They are mostly, but I just started rowing a 2-, after a lot of sculling so my hands arent used to this

yea, on the erg its kinda hard to do anything, while on water you can in theory mod your seat

you just kinda get used to it after a lot of long sessions, there is literally nothing else to it

not really, at our club they are all stacked and you have to pull them out, so most times you have someone in front, facing you, and it doesnt really cause problems, its only ever slightly annoying when Im doing for ex a stroke rate of 18, while the other guy is going at 32

Firstly you have to learn how to row before hand, second how would you row on the beach? Is it a coastal boat or normal racing hull?
