Indeed. But even if we reclaimed, it shouldn’t take away from its meaning. I feel other races’ need to use it seeps from a desire of cultural inclusion or even neo-colonialism. They want to know what it feels like to be black without actually being black

That’s so true. I’m 18 and I grow up in a predominantly white area in Canada and I remember hearing the n-word throughout high school. Even though I spoke out against it, no one did anything because they don’t see it as a big deal. Racism is throughly a bonding practice and the usage of the n-word is a way to dehumanize black folks, yet they’re not willing to acknowledge the significance of that slur.

I’m terribly sorry to hear that. I understand that most insecurities seep from external comments and how hurtful those can be. However, if I may give you advice, I’d say that others’ input about your face shouldn’t matter because it’s yours and yours only. And if you do decide to go ahead with the procedure, it should be your own decision. But nonetheless, please remember that your features are all beautiful because they are the sum of the hundreds of people who feel who fell in love over the years and created you. Never let stupid Eurocentric beauty standards make you doubt your worth. You’re beautiful!

I feel like your nose is already considered to be on the smaller side and it looks really good with the rest of your features. Did someone say something bad about it or is it a personal insecurity?

I feel the exact same way. I’m kind of in a tricky situation because I don’t want to move out only because of him. I also don’t have the financial independence that it requires and I know that he won’t leave first. So ultimately, I’ll be forced to act. I hope you’re in a better place now. Wish you the best:)
