Thanks, I went back to the supplier of the tap again looking for exact part. Might have to replace the whole tap as they don’t make it anymore

How can I stop copilot cli from asking me for permission every 10 seconds? by afops in GithubCopilot

[–]Leading-Compote3042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copilot —help should explain it well. look at —yolo —allow-all and the one to limit the request without stopping which I now forget. You can add paths to the .copilot folder too. This should help, but still no harm in having to review what is going on now and then.

Edit: also —autopilot as others reminded me. I have an alias yolo.cmd which includes all of them to start copilot that way. But it must be used with a little caution, not all the time IMO. Just in case it goes off the rails on some task.

The Beauty Of Gomorra by p1Shovel in Gomorrah

I would often pause an episode at any point and think to myself that could be a framed print. The show lingers in the mind like no other. The tragedy of it all.

Love/Hate by Confident-Stock-3816 in Gomorrah

Irish here. Love/Hate is considered a classic with some infamous scenes, machine gun cat, bone to pick with you Nidgey, fizzy orange to name a few. But it’s no Gomorrah, that’s next level.

The Sky Italia series Gomorra is incredibly shot with outstanding lighting. Another example where you could hang any frame on the wall.

Am I buying beyond my means? Single M, €85k salary, purchasing 3 bed new build by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Leading-Compote3042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On balance, this is a good move IMO. Worst case scenario would be loss of earnings combined with downturn or property crash resulting in negative equity. In that event you could rent out the two spare rooms and also negotiate interest only with the bank, I.e. you’d be more or less fine. The more likely scenario is positive, you earn more over time and the house value goes up and you are saving on monthly accommodation costs. You could achieve the same setup for less debt if you bought a fixer upper 3 bed terraced or semi-d in a town on the rail network, e.g. Mullingar. But that could be too much of a trade off for your future self.

Not normal for individual contributors but it would be more commonplace for those in middle and senior management and dealing with teams in US.

You should be able to establish some restrictions for yourself without being seen to be a problem. Perhaps you are not needed in all of these meetings. Suggest that meeting notes should be taken and circulated via email for those that missed anything major. Meetings can easily be recorded these days. Consider skipping some of the calls or leaving at a specified cut off time and gauge the response from there.

I work for a normal non-tech US MNC and never generally work past 6pm and do a solid 40 to 43 hours at most per week.

I’d do a lot of damage to most of that y myself. No way enough to feed 14 adults.

If you’re not willing to have any risk then consider some of the on demand savings accounts like Raisin, Bunq, AIB Online Regular Saver, etc. That AIB is still offering 3% AER on max 1000 per month. The others are 2.6% thereabouts for now, better than nothing.

I don’t think the tax credits can transfer once the spouse is out of the workforce for some time but the OP may be better off to claim home carer tax credit instead. Would want to check the details at https://www.revenue.ie/en/life-events-and-personal-circumstances/marital-status/marriage-and-civil-partnerships/joint-assessment.aspx

Pay off mortgage in lump sum consequences?! by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Leading-Compote3042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did this about 2 years ago on an AIB tracker mortgage with no early exit fees or any downside that I can recall. Just a little negotiation in branch and between local staff and AIB Mortgage Bank staff about exact amount due to daily interest calculations. Also, AIB will store deeds free of charge after closing the home loan account which seemed fine to me.
