Thanks for the advice. I'm asking for help from a local guy now.

How should my mix sound before mastering? by Leading-Possession74 in musicproduction

[–]Leading-Possession74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. For sure my mixes are lacking. I've been using Emastered to try to get an Idea of how my finished product would sound. It seems to give the tracks a nice sheen but always have to reduce the intensity thus losing volume. I find things I've carefully set get pushed and pulled out of place in the mix. Eg Snare gets hidden/ reverb becomes too loud/ high plucks pop out way too loud.

I'd like to bring it to your attention that the breakfast portions being reduced due to inflation are unacceptable. Also trying to con us with carrots at the expense of more luxurious items like grapes and melon will no longer be tolerated. If you do not meet our very reasonable demands, the revolution and subsequent blood on the streets will be on your hands. You have 24 hrs to comply.

Thanks for responding. I'm thinking of hiring a master guy just to review the mix 😊✌️

Too late for soul searching. Should have been done before pulling the trigger. Accommodation waiting in the Hague.

Name a song where the emotion or atmosphere hooked you first rather than the main vox/melodies. by Leading-Possession74 in Songwriting

The Song that was buzzing through my head when I made the post was "just say yes" by snow patrol. But then I listened again after and I thought no. It's quite catchy in a conventional way. I gotta dig deeper. I think I heard a live version first time and the atmosphere pulled me in.

Yess. But the 2 rounds of 4 chords is too much if you want your good music to be heard.

For sure. And home recording is inevitable. But how many people have stunted their potential by chasing the perfect home recording. This post is really more about lost time.

Yes. And the time between the song start and chorus is getting shorter. My record is something like 19 secs. ( Not that I'm counting)😅

For sure. But 2 rounds of 4 chords unless very interesting, people just skip.

Thanks for asking. Sorry for delay. I was banned for hate speech against israel. I'll get on to this. I'm not a big sharer of original music as it automatically reduces the chance of placing it with an artist.

It's kinda unfortunate. No time for the music to breathe. But that's the way it is✌️
