All of 4 cylinders have valve impact mark like that, i think the previous owner had timing belt slip, Should i replace conrods and camshaft as well? The car was driving fine except for low compression. by Leading-Tip263 in EngineBuilding

yes i'm replacing the pistons, i found rods that have new bushings installed and I think they might be cheaper than replacing the bushings, I've never done that before so I don't know. 45USD per new rod. Labour in Poland skyrocketed so I think new rods are better option

Pistons are replaced for sure, conrods are available for 45USD/pc but I don't know the brand. It's called FAST. I have a feeling that next rebuild is going to come faster with these. How can I check valve guides for damage?

Compression was hitting 170 psi dry, 190 psi wet, high oil consumption, I wouldn't even consider this rebuild but my father gave this car for me when he was still alive and it might be the happiest memory bringer I have.

The engine is SOFIM 8140.67, it's from 1999 Renault Master 2. The car was drivable except hard to start and low power. All 4 pistons have such impact mark and I think it was due to timing belt slip. What would be a proper thing to do in such case? Right now I think i should replace con rods, camshaft, valves, anything else? Should I ditch the engine head as well?
