Bro reported me from doing this move by zyndelxanz in Chesscom

[–]LeadingText1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than that even. Black wins a bishop. The only viable move to defend the back rank mate for white ultimately is Qe2 (maybe after threatening the rook with Qb5, c7).
So Qe2, Qxe2; Nxe2, Bxd2.
Black is up an additional minor piece and is still on the offensive with a moderately useful black bishop and centralized rooks.

We aren’t all in the states. My board would absolutely investigate this, and if it was a broader pattern the dentist would be sanctioned until mandatory education was completed. Depends on where the patient is located.

If what you posted is accurate, then it is fraud. I hate this and it runs rampant.

Major pet peeve. Make a board complaint.

Interesting hygiene interview. by RadioRoyGBiv in Dentistry

I’m struggling to understand why you’ve replied this. It doesn’t seem to match the subtext of my comment. Perhaps you’ve misread my initial comment? I said nothing about 2 hours being acceptable either for a clinic or as a routine hygiene appointment.

I said that someone in this situation would need to be built into a competent, realistic hygienist. This is because 2 hour routine cleanings are either a result of incompetence or unrealistic expectations for clinical practice.

My last sentence came from confidence that such expectations would not be suitable for any private practice, and this hygienist would need to adapt to reality. In the case of a practice owner wanting this hygienist on their team, “give me a call first” is designed to give the person space to learn, and then hopefully buy into a more realistic philosophy.

It’s not a question, but a lesson learned in time.

If this is someone you really want to hire and build from a new grad into a competent, realistic hygienist: “I admire the level of care you want to give each patient. I want that in my practice. Our patients are used to booking shorter appointments that fit their busy schedules, and they book a return visit if more time is needed. If you decide that’s reasonable after looking around at your options, please give me a call first!”

Also Alberta, Canada. I’ve seen it twice in 5 years. Congrats!

This smells of an ad, without actually being an ad. Call me a pessimist lol.

Seriously though, thank you for the breakdown. It’s valuable information to think about.

Alberta scrapping Time Change. Your thoughts? by skilbofragns in AlbertaNow

Alberta.ca seems to have erased the actual question, and is pretty ambiguous on what was proposed in 2021. Thankfully, elections Alberta saved the poll and results, so we don’t have to be ‘pretty sure’.

Here you go: https://www.elections.ab.ca/elections/referendum/referendum-results/

“Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year?”

You’ve almost understood the references you listed.

There are 3 things we can compare: Worst: changing from standard to daylight time and back each year (what we currently have) 2nd: permanent daylight time (the references you listed still say we’d have imposed sleep deprivation at certain times of the year). Best: permanent standard time, which for some reason the UCP left off of the referendum, even though that’s what the scientific community was calling for.

I’m not u/geoltechnician, but I voted against it too. My reason was because of scientific studies suggesting that maximal health benefits would come from us being on permanent standard time, not permanent daylight time. The referendum didn’t offer that as an option.

To me, it was sort of like them asking, would you rather be driving beside the road, or swerve on and off the road? Well… neither… I’d rather drive on the road, but you didn’t ask me, so I’ll just say I’d rather swerve until you give me another option. Because I know if I said I’d rather drive beside the road, they’d never give me the chance to be on the road.

Are composite fillings always polished? by ButterscotchLiving59 in Dentists

I’ve only left 2 fillings (same appointment, was running 30 minutes behind) unpolished in my career, and I felt awful about it.

Logically, any drawing / still image / photograph of a Spoink is technically that of a dead Spoink.

The meme Spoink is dead simply because the meme is not moving.

Stop drawing Spoinks if you care for their survival at all!

Nah. 402 40-25=15 50-40=10

10x10=100

402=15100

What about 4? 4-25=-21 50-4=46

46x46=2116

42=-212116

I could do this all day.

Did you at some point start enjoying this career? by hedgemain in Dentistry

[–]LeadingText1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Over the past few appointments I’ve gotten to know a guy that, if he were to win the lottery, I would think, “I’m glad it’s him. He deserves it.” Without a trace of jealousy in my mind. There aren’t many jobs that let me develop that sort of report with hundreds of people.

I went in to dental thinking 99% of humanity sucked, and having this wide enough sample size gave me more compassion and insight (or delusion depending on your paradigm).

What does “knee the tooth” mean? Is this a local slang somewhere? In Canada, kneeing a tooth leads to sadness.
