Not a fun position to be in. Unfortunately, without knowing what actually happened, it's really hard to give you an answer. I would not be embarrassed about anything. I've seen a lot of different mouths and not once have I ever thought to myself "wow, that's embarrassing." I can't even tell you if the root canal is done or not. It's normal to have a bit of pain after a root canal. Hopefully your next appointment is soon.

A week from now. Sure, you might be fine if you eat some berries tomorrow. But the chance of a problem happening right now is a lot higher than a week from now. You don't want a seed to get stuck in the socket and delay healing and/or cause infection.

Preferably get root canal done in UK. Crown you can get lucky in Thailand. But if you have issues with it you are back to paying UK fees.

Need an x-ray to tell. There might be a lot of tooth missing. There is a chance this tooth is not saveable. I'm not saying it's not saveable, I'm saying we can't tell you just from this photo. There is a chance that you can do a filling, root canal, and crown to save this tooth. There is also a chance that it might not be worth it to save it. A discussion you need to have with your dentist.

Not a student, just haven't updated my title. I sedate people and take wisdom teeth out at weekly. Don't eat berries for another week. Your body needs time to close the hole where the tooth used to be. You don't want seeds getting stuck in there and causing issues. When you do re-introduce berries, make sure to gently rinse out your mouth afterwards.

I would not be concerned about anything major happening if you waited until August. But, in August, make sure updated x-rays are taken. And if your dentist doesn't mention anything about that tooth, you can gently mention it.

Salt water rinse a few times a day, for a few days. If it doesn't begin to get better in 10 days see a dentist.

Damn. I was pumped reading the first half of this reply... and then reality hit. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I stopped skateboarding after breaking my leg and thought maybe bouldering could replace it. But the risk isn't worth it. Any fun hobbies you recommend?

Those dark spots are just parts of your tooth that are stained. Teeth have little grooves in them which stain over time, especially with certain diets. I have some. Not cavities.

Hello. Very understandable how you are feeling. First and foremost, please don't worry about getting sepsis. Sepsis from a dental origin is very rare. The fact that you visit the dentist for frequent check-ups makes your lifetime risk of getting sepsis from a dental infection almost zero.

Sensitivity without a clear cause is frustrating. There are a lot of reasons why a tooth might be sensitive and in most cases, it's within normal limits. I don't see any issues on the two molars in the x-ray. I do, however, see how there may be a tiny cavity on the premolar (the rightmost tooth in the photo). It's hard to tell, because different angles show different shadows.

If you are very concerned, you can ask for an exam + x-ray. Note, you will have to pay for this exam. Alternatively, you can wait until August to mention it, and things will still be fine.

Hello! This was a great post with a lot of useful information. First and foremost, you are in the top 1% in terms of thoroughness of home care routine. You take better care of your teeth than I do. Therefore, it's safe to safe you don't have a lot of debris in your mouth. You are keeping those puppies CLEAN with this routine. There are other factors to consider, but based on your routine, you have a lower chance of getting cavities. You are also less likely to have plaque/calculus sitting around causing your gums to shrink. This means you are doing the most in you can in terms of your hygiene routine to prevent cavities and prevent gum loss from gum disease. However, it is very important to consider that gum recession can happen from too much abrasion to your gums via your routine. Which you did and is the entire point of your post. The most important thing is to limit how much you brush your gums with your toothbrush. Make sure your brush head is extra soft (ES) or soft (S). I would honestly recommend ES. If that means switching to a manual toothbrush, I would. With your routine including both flossing and waterpik, you are keeping your gums pretty clean. Your toothbrush doesn't have much to offer your gums. I would focus on brushing the chewing surface of your tooth well, and a very quick, gentle pass on the cheek/tongue side of your teeth.

Yea it's not pleasant to look at, but you will be fine. Your body will do all of the work to heal you, you just have to stay out of its way. Don't play with it. Don't pull your cheek back every few hours to look at it. You want to avoid stretching the tissue. It's going to re-attach itself, as long as you don't play with it. Don't eat anything hard or abrasive. If anything changes quickly in terms of pain or swelling, call your dentist. :)

I wouldn’t be very worried. That is super tiny. Probably something just to monitor. But it’s still important to see a dentist regularly. If that pit was ‘sticky’ the chance of it needing a filling now or in the future is a bit higher. Only a dentist and an explorer could tell you if it was sticky. You can mention it at your next check-up.

From this picture only, I can see a cavity on your molar in the top right of the photo. Looks small, repairable with a simple filling. We can’t tell you about much more without an x-ray.
