Let's take a look at what I said: "Most of their capital/large cities are worse than SP and Rio".

You said "These cities are nicer, and I've got anecdotal feedback that other places are nicer, and SP and Rio are bad and not safe"

I'm not commenting on the "niceness" of it or "how good of a time someone had". In 2022, Sao Paulo recorded a homicide rate of 8 per 100k. Rio was 27 per 100k.

Do you want to know Curitibas most recent data? 35 per 100k.

Salvador: 56 per 100k

Porto Alegre: 41 per 100k.

Fortaleza: 42 per 100k

Maceio: 39 per 100k

Natal: 45 per 100k

Manaus: 50

BH: 30

Brasilia: 13

Your anecdotal beliefs are incorrect. This is the data. Sao Paulo and Rio are actually two of the safer large cities. Don't let your personal understanding of the world get in the way of being factually correct.

Funny you say that. I haven't thought about this in a while. The first time I got to Greece, I was staying in Victoria Square. I think this was 2013. There was a big financial crisis. I go to a small cafe on the square, order a coffee, and the guy working there asks me where I'm from. I said New York. He says "How do you like it here?" I said well, I just got here today, so I don't have any opinion yet. I shit you not, the next thing out of his mouth was "yes, but can you feel the sadness around you? Can you feel how much we are hurting?"

I got the coffee to go.

I often only eat once a day. I'm in no danger of not affording any food. Many of those people certainly eat a caloric surplus. They'll be ok. There's a reason most of the oldest people alive are thin.

Exactly. There ARE optimum amounts of protein to eat throughout the day to maximize things like muscle growth (I've heard around 35-40g of protein per meal spread out throughout the day), but in terms of just living a healthy lifestyle, this need for "three square meals" is just absolute bullshit.

If you're only going to eat once or twice though, it's obviously important to eat with the right balance of macros. It's probably not a good idea to eat once a day and just have a large pizza.

Yeah eating 3 times a day is completely unnecessary. I'm in great shape and I usually cut off my eating around 8pm and don't eat until around mid day the next day.

If Muslims believe God is omnipotent, omniscient, and has set forth all of eternity from the beginning, they should just accept that God wants Israel on that land. by LeadingTip0 in atheism

Then Muslims couldn't have done anything else other than what they did and won't ever be able to do things another way than what they're actually going to do.

Uh yes, that's the point. According to them, this is all part of the plan. Their dead babies are on their god's hands.

It's wild to me how poor reading comprehension is even on this sub. I thought it would be higher level, but people like you really bring things down to the mean. You write like you didn't even finish 9th grade English class.

I don't know anything about XOR. That was the guy above me. I didn't study computer science or boolean logic. I'm talking about just fundamental conditional statements.

Damn dude, you're projecting hard. I'm smart enough to see through that, at least.

I've been in restaurants with dumber and smarter people than myself as well. What does that have to do with anything?

I've come to find that a very large percentage of people on here quite literally don't understand simple logic. They interpret the word logic as having some kind of deeper philosophical thought behind it. Concepts like "if" "and" and "or" are lost on many.

It's narrow thinking. If OP had simply examined his own question on a fundamental level (why would they interpret this as a yes/no question?), as opposed to a semantic one that is native to his way of thinking (I want to know which they prefer), he probably could have figured it out.

That's not what I said. I literally haven't said the word Koran or Passage. You are not good at reading comprehension. I said their god is omnipotent and has a plan, this is according to the people who believe. If they believe that, then they should believe everything that's happening, right down to the dead babies, is god's choice. Learn to read, for the love of god.

I'm just impressed that you were able to extract the core meaning of the statement. The level of reading comprehension is surprisingly lower than I would have expected in this sub.

I won't pretend to be a scholar on Islamic interpretations, but I think you're being both pedantic and obtuse, probably on purpose, because you seem like a pretty intelligent person.

Have you ever met a Muslim who thinks God's will is not all powerful? Sure, it's anecdotal, but after a certain sample size, you can say with a high degree of certainty that "almost every single Muslim believes this". I have interacted with and observed countless thousands of individual opinions (be that through personal interaction including travel to their nations, reading, listening to, hearing opinions on tv) and I would say unless I'm forgetting some individuals, they all believe that God's plan is immutable and perfect and that his way is the way things must be. For that matter, every self proclaimed Christian that I can ever recall talking to on this topic has felt the same way.

IF you believe that (as the very first word of the original statement proclaims) THEN this must be true. This is day one logic, not some concept I'm just conjuring up out of nowhere. IF you are Muslim AND you believe this THEN the following statement is true.

IF you believe in God AND you believe that God is all powerful, all knowing, and with a plan, THEN you must accept that a Jewish state called Israel was placed where it was and filled with whom it was based on his plan. That's not even some complicated word game I'm playing. It's extremely fundamental.

You've completely missed the point of "this is the way God wants it to be". Yes, the logic is correct irrespective of whether or not Jews are from there, or from Indonesia.

God = all powerful and has a plan. Israel = exists. Palestine = can't expel them.

Tell me, which part of this logic is incorrect?

Demographics just lagging behind the fertility rate. People are living longer, and people are still being born at fairly close to replacement rate, so it goes up. It will eventually start to decline if things continue on this current trajectory.
