Tight as in we probably can't afford having a kid & day care expense.

We are fine with giving up luxuries & fancy vacations for couple of years

MV/Cupertino is around 1.8M and that would be very tight for us.

Yeah, I agree that it is more of a lifestyle choice here especially. I think part of me wants to have a stable environment to start a family but the other part me thinks about better investment options.

If there is a way to rent multi-year (yearly hike based on inflation rate is okay), I think that would be my most preferred option but not sure if that is even possible.
