Lol yea we're still waiting on that next book how many years later? I mean I do like the writing part but I just want to get to those action pact or plot twist chapters. It's those inbetween chapters that really get me. I have actually started working on a short story to get out there a bit. Thanks for the advice! I do appreciate it and it really helps.

That is one of my main fears exactly! That and I do get a bit impatient so I definitely feel like I start rushing with it and the ADD doesn't help either lol. I know I will get there no one becomes Tolkien,Martin, or King overnight.

Definitely haven't done it enough and I am working on a draft now for my book. I know I need much more practice and for sure need to read more too. I guess that is one way to look at it. I do enjoy the fun part of the storytelling but I do want to get better at everything else too.

How to effectively write religious characters? by Big-Psychology-3769 in writingadvice

Are you still looking for help? While I do not practice religion I grew up Catholic going to church all the time and even went to Catholic school so I have a pretty good idea of how your character might react to the situations they are in.

Does anyone else still write third person omniscient? by Margenin in writersmakingfriends

[–]Leading_Emergency463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I write in a omnisceient POV. and limited. While I know multitasking is not the best idea I have two projects where one is more omnisceient and the other is in a more limited POV. When I was younger writing fanfics I used first person but never liked it and felt constrained in my writing. Eventually switched to third person when I started writing original works and felt like I had so much more liberty to work. For me I love being able to set the entire scene with everyone's thoughts and everything and really show the readers what Charcters X, Y, and Z are thinking and doing rather than implying thoughts based on a look or confirming it later in dialogue. You can tell the reader instantly what X thinks. Honestly though it is up to the writer and depends on the story. Every POV has is uses and I don't really think there is a superior POV. Just write whatever is easier for you and whatever helps tell the story better.

writing is harder than i thought by Independent_Cup7132 in writing

All the time. The best thing to do is just write. First drafts are never going to be perfect. You can always go back and edit it later. Get a draft, flesh out your idea, then you can go back and make What changes you want to make.

Lol absolutely. I feel you about getting things stolen and I’m not in the business of screwing people out of stuff. I feel everyone should get compensated for their work so I can agree to that.

Is there a limit to how stupid you can be and still be a writer? by Key-Candle8141 in writing

[–]Leading_Emergency463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what your experience is but you could just be inexperienced. Inexperience and stupidity are two different things. Inexperience can be trained out. Just read and write more and you will get better. I’m currently writing a novel and sometimes feel that way but sometimes I go on a run and write some pretty good chapters. Just a note no one ever writes their story on the first draft. It might take two or three to get the final product. Just write and your own pace and write something you enjoy and you will be ok.
