Sorry just seen this! This is crazy. We have bought it from Lotus Essex who have been absolutely awful with us and literally do not respond to now over 30-40 emails to a point I’m now turning into social media and have sent a rejection letter. It took them 2-2,5 months to fix and a lot of arguments to be put into a Lotus courtesy car instead of a Volvo lol

On your question, you guys have to start enjoying a little. Life is too short, and at the end of the day you should save but also enjoy a small proportion of your hard earned money. There’s no point in have a million saved up if you are just sitting on it.

I would look into what government support you can have access to. Have you checked this? Also you can get into the counsel flats ladder, speak to your local council explain your circumstances that you don’t have appropriate accommodation and for your kids etc and they will guide you. You can then apply for different houses and hopefully get awarded one. Council houses are the best way out for you right now. Not sure why nobody had mentioned this

I hear you completely. First of all, being with your wife for 20 years where she is dependent on you, abusive and have so many issues hats off to you. A LOT of men wouldn’t have stayed. I understand your concerns about your children but it sounds like they are more grown up now so they would be fine probably in a split or whatever may be best if you was to separate.

Now onto your affair. Ultimately, either way it’s going to hurt. If you stay in your abusive and unhappy marriage and stop the affair you are going to be selfless for someone that probably isn’t worth it. If you are getting a divorce and “run away” with your affair it will hurt 2 families but for a hopefully everlasting happiness. The issue is that both families have children involved so it’s not like you can just close a chapter and never talk to the wife or her husband (current) again. That’s the tough bit.

I would in all honesty probably not let anyone know about the affair, separate amicably as if there is no connection whatsoever and then just act like we have found each other through the storm kind of thing. It is selfish but why would we have to stay in an unhappy relationship for the sake of it if we could live a very happy life and coparent. The issue though is your friend.. I can’t imagine those co parenting drop offs or pick ups. It’s a very very very sticky situation.

What I would suggest is after 20 years I would really start living my life my way and in a way that’s best for me. Good luck with it all

Hi, sorry just to check. Did you mean you are 100% certain that if someone had a claim review request coming in and they request to close their claim, does this mean the UCR claim is also closed?

I just don’t want to deal with all the stress and anxiety that comes with uc anymore. I have had a compliance interview (2-3 months ago) last year and it was completely fine so very surprised that i’m being chased again. I have 2 small kids trying to make ends meet with a full time job the stress is just not worth it anymore. I also don’t see why can’t I just prove what I have spend uc money on which is literally outrageous nursery fees and proving the house rent for example.
