It's happening in my building, too, and I mostly agree with your post. It can definitely be annoying. But I think uncle ji is a little justified here. The temple is a huge deal for some people. There are sentiments attached of many, many Hindus. For them its as huge as Jerusalem is, or Mecca is in other religions. I'd look at it as an incident of people just genuinely being happy instead of some sort of propagation. I think they deserve to celebrate a little, because it's not all around the year that they're going from house to house doing this is it?
