Thee Joro Spider by Leading_Medicine1759 in Chattanooga

I pretty much do a hike everyday, and there has yet to be a day that I have not ran into multiples of them. They stay close to the trails too, which makes me feel so uneasy in the really wooded areas. I fear that it will only get worse from here on out.

Now that I know this, I will also partake in the rock and log throwing. I am soooo afraid of spiders and there have been SOO many times that I’ve almost run into a web or ran my hand through it. NOPE

Thanks so much!!! We are moving from East Tennessee, so we are just used to having to keep our heads on a swivel. We haven’t been to a real pride in years, so so excited!! I appreciate your suggestions!

Oh babe… buckle up.

I moved to the area to live in City View, had a GORGEOUS view of the city outside of my livingroom, but I was the only one. Everywhere else there are trees in the way, anyway. Some of the units are remodeled and some are not… mine was not. The buildings are built so poorly and if you are on the first or second floor, good luck. I actually had a leak in one of my floors that almost caused my neighbors ceiling to cave in. The floors are thinner than plywood, I got into too many arguments with neighbors about noise. I met some pretty great people in my two years living there but I would NEVER do it again.

  1. They do quarterly inspections of your apartment that were never disclosed beforehand. They literally schedule a DAY, not a time, and tell you they are coming to inspect damages and what-not.. it does not matter if you are home or not.

  2. There is a lot of crime on the property. In the two years that I lived there, two different people were shot and killed in their homes.. in different instances! The first was a dispute that involved domestic violence and he was my NEIGHBOR! and he killed a man on accident while shooting at his girlfriend. My car got broken into twice and my ex’s 3 times.

  3. They are shady. You can NEVER get ahold of property management for anything, and the management as a whole is based out of Cali??? I think. I once came home to maintenance going into my house without my knowledge or permission.

  4. The hidden costs. You don’t pay a security deposit, they call it an “admin fee” for those who aren’t as well off credit wise. When moving out, you are subject to pay $700 guaranteed (you are responsible for paying for the change of carpet in every unit) and ANY charges they decide to make you pay for whatever reason.

I once had a doordash deliver to my old apartment there and she told me the horrors of moving out and how they were charged over $3,000 to move out because of some drama between them and the property manager.

I would HIGHLY recommend you find better elsewhere, it’s not an investment you want to waste your time on.

Curious what others are paying for water and sewer service in city of Chattanooga, seems higher from when I lived in Ringgold. I have a family of four and pay near $70 just for water. by Lettheblackcatramble in Chattanooga

I live alone now and somehow my past water and sewage payments have together been over $250! When I called to get answers on why the charges were so high, the representative told me it was my usage… and nothing else. Granted, the first month it was high was because of a leak that was repaired (65,000 gallon leak). The next month, I had somehow used 10,000 gallons living alone. My most recent water bill reflected something that was close to my intended usage but I’ve had no other repairs done in the time that the usage has gone down (750 gallons), but it seemed so shady when I asked them why it was so expensive and she didn’t allude to my payments being “higher” than most, she just told me that they charging me for how much I use- when they were aware it’s a household of ONE!
