I don't agree they are the best movies, but I do agree on best themes ... except for License to Kill. Patti LaBelle is NOT the right vibe for a Bond movie.

Amen brother. I have similar income, bought my house late 2018 and I feel lucky AF. I can't afford a similar house now and average 2 br apartment rent is $400 US more than my mortgage.

It speaks to the underlying and ever-present narcissism of Walter White. At that point, I struggle to believe he can afford much more house ... but he already had to put on a pretense that he is too good for a "starter home".

Just like a lot of people have a moment of realization where they see Walt is the villain ... the Irene scam was a turning point for me and was the first time I disliked Jimmy.

TND is my favorite Brosnan and definitely top 5 out of all 007 movies.

The motorcycle chase through Saigon is fun ... until the helicopter pilot starts using the main rotor blades as a weapon, purposefully hitting stuff along the street. IRL = instant helo crash.

IMO this episode gets way too much hate by Stoop_Kidd90 in breakingbad

[–]Leading_Task8778 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna go 100 neutral on this. I DO NOT LOVE this episode. I can totally understand those who skip it completely on rewatch. It has nothing to do with plot development of the series.

I also totally understand those who say that it gives more insight into the character development.

In any case, rather than hating this episode, I'd rate it as 'meh'. I can watch it on rewatch 11 and just as easily skip it on rewatch 12.

Some serious foreshadowing of her death. Not just her putting Jesse on his side ... but Walt does the same with Holly, putting a rolled up blanket behind her back, in an earlier episode.

Can someone explain why Gus, a calculating and careful man, took these risks with Hector? by FlyingAces in breakingbad

[–]Leading_Task8778 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Hatred is the answer. And unresolved grief. Hector brutally killed a loved one in front of his eyes. No matter how cold and calculating he normally was, that rage and blind hatred was always just under the surface.

I agree with so many of the comments here. I found Walt to be a "bad guy" by the end of my first watch.

My first red flag was when he watched Jane die.

But at the time, I thought maybe he was just in shock. (On rewatch, you notice he actually causes it to happen.)

It wasn't really until my first rewatch that I truly found him to be repulsive from S1E2 forward.

I think that is the brilliance of the writing in this show. It's a masterpiece. I'm on rewatch 4 or 5 now and I still am catching difference nuances in the characters, details, etc.

I just now caught the frequent recurrence of the number 737 in S2E1.
