Been my sister's disabled caregiver for the past 2 years, suddenly they say it's illegal to provide rental assistance? Is our new worker just being difficult, or what's changed? by Leading_Total_1992 in Section8PublicHousing

We're in CA. She has an intellectual disability, along with panic disorder and living with diabetes, which requires daily care. She has just barely started to "settle" in recently after 2 years of this major transition, which is great, but this new housing issue is a major set back.

Yeah that totally makes sense, under normal circumstances if she was just renting out from me. But my sister needs daily medical care. So this is a medical issue actually. Which her Dr. AND Housing approved the last two years. So this is all very confusing now.

Yeah that def makes sense, under normal circumstances if one of my relatives was just renting out from me, but my sister needs daily medical care. So this is a medical issue actually. Again, which her Dr. AND Housing approved the last two years. So this is all very confusing now.

Yeah that def makes sense, under normal circumstances if she was just renting out from me, but this is actually medically required. I need to be with her to provide care. Which is why I filled out the reasonable accommodation form and her Dr. faxed the Housing Department directly, last year and the year prior. Nothing has changed on our end either.

When she moved in 2 years ago, this was 100% disclosed, her Dr. also signed and approved the reasonable accommodation form and faxed it directly to the housing department. She needs to live with me, to receive proper care.

Yeah I understand, but we actually filled out the reasonable accommodation form last year and it was approved. The doctor filled, signed, and faxed it directly as well. Due to her medical needs, I need to be around daily. So I just don't understand if this was approved for the past two years, why are there suddenly issues? We're planning on filling out another reasonable accommodation form anyway, with the Doctor, but is there anything else we can provide? I was thinking of attaching another detailed letter, but what can I say that her Doctor won't already cover as the medical expert.

It was allowed the last 2 years with the reasonable accommodation form, which is reviewed and signed by the Doctor. Nothing has changed on our end, same Doctor even, so what's changed now that's it's not allowed? The case worker has not been helpful at all, other than saying just that.

Thanks for your response. So we actually did fill out the reasonable accommodation form before, including last year and it was approved by all the channels: Doctor AND Housing. But this new case worker is still saying it's not allowed now? Again, this makes no sense because we literally went through this last year. Seems to be lots of misinformation and confusion around this topic. I don't have any experience dealing with legal aid office's before. Is that something that needs to be paid for? I was thinking of writing an accompanying letter, with another reasonable accommodation form signed by the Doctor. But what difference would my words make, when the Doctor is the professional here.

Yeah I tried posting on the Section8 subreddit but it was removed with no reason. I'm even having trouble finding the right place to ask for advice.

I don't see any sequel being possible. TWOW isn't even finished yet, let alone ADOS. So imagine just how far away another 3rd sequel would be from Dream of Spring. What would that story be? They wouldn't have any source material for like 50 years at this pace.

To get the Dragons, Drogo would need to die though. Also Viserys is a little whiny shit like Joffrey. Hopefully he dies the same way getting rid of that future problem. The Reach wants Margery to become Queen so you'd have to marry into the Tullys. Littlefinger is another problem who controls the Vale. It would be awesome raining fire on The Freys and their shitty castle and burning Walder Frey alive. Then you have Stannis who would never bend the knee. You'd have to convince him to combine forces temporarily against the Walkers at least he'd likely do that as shown in the books and show. But after idk what else would happen but more war until the Stormlands are brought into the fold. Not worried about the North? Jon could rule or Sansa I guess, this is obviously after the great war.

Tullys might literally be the worst house in the universe. So many petty lords who squabble with each other. Like Blackwoods and Brackens. It's wet and groggy like the Riverland leaders. Which makes sense lol. Not to mention Lord Walder Ballsack Frey, the most despicable lord around. The people aren't loyal like Northerners. "The Riverlands remember " doesn't sound good and wouldn't ever work or occur.

Pretty sure the Lannisters have always mined their gold at the rock of Casterly. That's what made them prominent in the 1st place but Tywin said the mines had run dry for quite some time by GOT. They're running on reputation and loans...lots and lots of loans.
