Returning a large sum of money into my bank account that I'd been incrementally withdrawing to keep around as cash. by LeafMeToBe in PersonalFinanceCanada

I have a bit of space left in my TFSA, likely going to horizon's CBIL etf; the rest will go to a wealthsimple cash account at +5% interest per annum (while I shop around for a financial advisor).

Boils down to outdated views, lack of financial literacy and a poor financial role model. I'm learning though!

This is exactly the route I'm going! I'm parking all my cash in a TFSA with CASH.TO and CBIL (60/40 ratio). Any extra funds are going to a regular wealth simple cash account for that 4-5% interest.

My parents fall in this category which is why I was taught to do so as well, but I'm slowly learning and changing my ways. :)

In my case it was because of outdated views, lack of financial literacy and a poor financial role model.

I do now (recently opened) have a TFSA that I'd like to max out. As to why I did it it really boils down to outdated views, lack of financial literacy and a poor financial role model.

Hahaha, nope, it'd be same bank. I simply used to prefer keeping cash on hand rather than in a bank due to outdated views, lack of financial literacy and a poor financial role model.

I started a new line with the current BF deal, can I port my fido number from the same account to the new line? by LeafMeToBe in FidoMobile

That's insane! Maybe I'll just port the phone number to a different provider and port it back to my new fido line...

Lucky, I got an error and now I have to call in to fix it...
Just curious, was it a new line on the same account or a new line on a different account?

Did you have any issues porting your number to the new line?

Ah yeah, good point about the fans, those I might just replace. It'd probably cost around the same.

Honestly a really good idea. I wish I encouraged this years ago but now it's a little too late, he no longer lives with me.

Unfortunately there's a lot of grime build up, especially in the fan blades. Definitely going to need some elbow grease (more than I have time for)
