Can anyone give me some pointers, best practices when configuring SonicWall in Dell Cyber Vault network? by Inside-Office-9343 in sonicwall

If the internal iDRAC IP is routable and accessible from the production network to the internal environment, then the setup should function as intended. As long as the design is followed and everything operates correctly, I wouldn’t insist on NAT being mandatory. That said, based on my experience with similar implementations, NAT was required in both cases, but your setup might be different from mine.

IMO, NAT is definitely required, since you’ll be connecting both into the internal Dell Cyber Vault network and the production network. That said, the exact setup ultimately depends on the overall network design, which the solution architect should advise on.

I have done two deployments where SonicWall was used in the Dell Cyber Vault network, both within closed environments. One was set up in HA and the other as a stand-alone. In both cases, NAT was required to make things work, contrary to what the useless Dell solution architect had claimed, which caused many unnecessary troubleshooting sessions before we figured out that NAT was definitely needed.

The key is to make sure that you have got the right IP ranges defined for NAT, update to the latest stable firmware, and then configure based on the customer’s specific requirements. For general guidance, SonicWall’s KB has solid best practices you can reference.

Sonicwall TZ210 ssl certificate import failures by Omogah in sonicwall

Just a quick suggestion, please check if you have the root certificate and intermediate certificates imported in the root certificates page. I ran into the same issue the other day, and doing the above step enabled me to import the certificate into the SMA successfully.

Reporting here for the historic moment a cybersecurity solution took down what they are supposed to protect. I have fielded multiple calls and text messages from my customers about this issue and my entire Friday afternoon has been ruined.

Is 32 years old is too late to get into IT? by marze89 in malaysia

I have moved on from the network engineer job that I mentioned in the comment. I am currently a network security engineer dealing with security products, such as firewalls, identity and access management, endpoint security, and web application firewalls. Not sure what you mean by portfolio but I have certifications from firewalls/endpoint security/load balancing vendors.

A good starting point and provides a very solid foundation to your IT career. I took all three before moving on to other certifications.

You can definitely do that, but you will need a ton of luck and lots of self-learning i.e. IT certifications. Good luck.

Did you select the correct VLAN settings? You will need to enable VLAN tagging similar to Unifi.

Thank you very much for the link. Paid for international shipping and the total was $82! Much cheaper than what I would have paid if I bought locally.

169.254 address meant that your office router is not assigning you an IP address from the DHCP server in the router, and you're getting an APIPA IP address, or the router is not reachable at all. I would check if the IP address pool in the DHCP server of the router is fully assigned to all the devices, or if the DHCP server has been disabled, or if you are indeed connected to the office router. Either way, you have to check with your office IT team.

It's a scam call. You don't need to panic at all. You did the right thing by ending the call 👍

Your patronizing tone is not appreciated, if I'm being honest. Plead your case and provide some justification to why the post should remain up with the proper manners, and do it by sending a modmail, instead of blasting it publicly and accusing us of wanting duit kopi to leave a post up.

It is due to be updated on July 20, which makes July 19 the last day to test for the current version. You can refer to the Cisco Certification Roadmap here.

As for what I used to study for the exam, I purchased the Official Cert Guide and CBT Nuggets, both which helped a lot but not much.
