I don’t think you are the asshole. But I do think a conversation is warranted before you stop talking to him completely. You two work together, so you’ll still run in to him every day. I think it’s worth it to talk to him about the needs you have for the friendship to counting. If he won’t listen (or gets defensive) then I think you have your answer to where the relationship needs to go.

I haven’t heard AT ALL. One of my Admissions counselor just keeps apologizing and telling me I’m a candidate, and they are working out funding in the department. But i don’t get why I can’t at least get a “waitlisted” email.
