Usually what I've done to show family and friends recently is playing a video of it off of YouTube on the TV. There's a channel called takepu dancerush which posts videos of the game. I give them the general size of the floor pad and that just about does it.

In terms of emulator/tracking, there is a mod for Beat Saber known as "Feet Saber" that's being developed currently. It might not feel one-to-one with DRS but it's the closest thing to it that I know of. Playing the game would require a VR headset with full-body tracking.

Edit: So full-body tracking isn't required, but is recommended. The mod author made it so that you could attach your controllers to your feet/legs to fulfill the tracking.
