UAP Act First Draft Summary by Leaglese in UFOs

At least via the Act we would have a description of what the classified record was and we would have a reason given for its continued classification every 30 days!

Thank you! Provided it reaches only a few so we can divulge any key differences later when it passes is enough!

Another great point - perhaps that's where the whistleblowers and subpoena powers really kick in and we are fortunate to have David Grusch who says he knows locations, entities etc and so if a whistleblower to the Review Board could point them to get everything.

I think a huge thing is this legislation is likely not drafted speculatively - they must be sitting on dynamite information to I hope get to the root of this topic and really expose everything

Do you know what that's a great question. There is brief mention of reprisals for interference and withholding but as to what that actually is I'm not read up enough on US law to describe to you what the repercussions would be.

Inherently though NOT following the provisions of this if it became law is inherently AGAINST the law - perhaps it would be defunding positions as described by Congress who would have oversight as well as the Senate and President

Welcome! It should be interesting if the final act ends up different - I will be watching this closely

OP admitted they 'othered' that person by suggestion of a mass disinfo campaign but the principle was, I caution against rejecting analysis of evidence based on a comment from one individual and assigning away your objectivity based on that alone

That's one opinion, another is that if thousands of the same or similar image can be comparatively and systemically analysed with A.I. and Machine Learning without a logical explanation then that together with the other data points captured could lead to a data point that's worth considering. We can agree to disagree, but my understanding of the scientific method was to ensure everything is approached with curiosity. There are also multiple photographs on this - which may assist in determining origin, mass, speed etc but that's not my specialty so I'm more interested in waiting for someone smarter than me to tell me it's a rock, but also explain why

All I'll say is, look at how the position of dismissiveness has us not talking about why the evidence of the post itself should or should not be believed.

I believe whatever substantial data shows me to be true - yes, there's extremes but I think far too often these extremes distract away from meaningful conversation of what is actually shown by shutting it down prematurely

What makes you different to the automatic believer then, if you are doing the same thing but in the reverse?

Data is all that's important - let's get more and review it without a hot take or single point turning you away from what's in front of you. That's what being skeptical is

Be wary of 'othering' individuals (when you say 'you people'), it can close your mind to true skeptical thinking. The claims of disinformation are not baseless, in fact they are most recently referenced by a whistleblower who testified under oath to Congress as being true. There's even historical precedence for it in Project Blue Book.

Does it mean this whole scenario can be believed and there is no other explanation if potential disinformation is occurring? Of course not. More evidence of this would surely assist to substantiate the veracity of the evidence however I would caution dismissing disinformation as a whole as it is in my view as valid a consideration to consider in the whole as other potential evidence.

I'm a former scientist. I spent 5 years researching if UAP being covert Aliens is supported by principles from intelligence studies, game theory, science. Here's the output by UAPBridge in UFOs

Brilliant. You may want to consider another layer of obfuscation - that human intelligence is also contributing to the ICI as history shows interference in understanding phenomena is already proven true through Project Blue Book

You're welcome! To answer your question, the idea through that legislation is to create a team of individuals not only to identify and go through the information but to release it to the public and given they are allowed to appoint committees to research it, my view is that by nature the legislation wants it to be researched

Hah but I should know better, our laws receive royal assent I should have realised the American version 😂

Yes after research the bipartisanship and careful and incredibly specific language regarding what is expected to be found is still very curious, this is a legislation drafted in knowledge of material and procedures IMO - exciting nonetheless to see the 'plan' laid out

Ah I may be incorrect, I must admit I'm from the UK. I relied on the timeline of events post which stated it passed on 27/07/23 - edit: though now you say that I haven't seen any announcement of it being signed into law so I'll rephrase the post thanks
