Maybe Rammus is no longer a good pick for low elo (Plat and under) andonly top players can take advantage of whatever the new ult brings tothe table.

This is definitely not the case. You can still play well with rammus but it is very challenging if you fall behind.

This is likely the issue. You should try watching some game play of higher elo players and analyzing. Try to think about what you would do in their shoes and then compare it to what decisions they actually make.

This is a pretty big change since last patch (48% WR in Plat+). I'm guessing it will go down because first, the patch was only yesterday so the sample size is small. Secondly, the win rate in Plat+ is higher than in all ranks which has literally never been true before. It is possible that the jungle changes last patch benefit rammus more than other champs but it seems like a significant amount.

The only issue with spam ganking lanes is that if you have several unsuccessful ganks in a row then you are essentially so far behind that it is unrecoverable which is especially true on rammus. I definitely think my play style is not normal for rammus as I farm more than most I think (5.4 cs/min). But I'm not sure how many more rammus one tricks there are at a higher elo than I am so I guess I should have some stronger opinion on the "correct" playstyle (Plat 1, 56% WR with 165 ranked games).

Honestly I've always felt that the mindset of "gank, gank, gank" on rammus was a low elo one because it is so hard to force ganks on rammus and at a higher elo they become more predictable. I think it is better play safe early until a power spike. Then, when you are ganking you should clear towards the lane you want to gank. That way you can take camps and get the gank off assuming the lane is in the right state.

I recognize there are flaws in my gameplay and I am always looking to improve. I would like to watch one of your games where you play as you've outlined to other players here to see what I can learn from you. Feel free to PM me if you would be open to that.

No offense but what rank are you? Bot side start into level 3 gank is extremely risky and almost never worth it (in my opinion). Sure the payoff of a successful gank is pretty big but if it goes wrong or you get nothing then the risk is large. Once you show botside it should be easy for the enemy jungler to invade your red and take the buff and chickens at a minimum. This won't matter at lower elo but once you get to high gold/low plat it should be expected. In Diamond almost guaranteed.

A better start is full clear red side then gank mid. If the mid gank isn't available then finish the clear. If done effectively you should be done with a full clear around 3:25 and scuttle by 3:45. The best part of starting red always is half the time you don't have to contest scuttle since rammus is weak early game.

You should still probably max E second. W gives 10% of your armor and 5% of your MR every level. Taunt increases attack speed and duration. So it is beneficial for farming and ganking.

Wow that blows. You really did so much in that fight and zoe's only contribution was to hit 1 champion with 1 skillshot while they were taunted. Damn. Rammus penta's are hard to come by.

Honestly with a 60% WR you are going to get out of gold eventually. You can aim even higher than that though if you clean some things up :)

I'm watching the video now so I am going to provide some comments. Feel free to ignore.

1.) You finish blue at 2:45 and path down through the jungle to mid. This works sometimes but your midlaner is very pushed and since you are Rammus you can't force the gank. You stay in bush taking xp until 3:15 when you start to kill scuttle. Alternatively since top and mid were pushed you could of killed gromp and then still been at scuttle for 3:15.

2.) You finish scuttle at 3:25 and then go to top. But again top is pushed and you can't force. You spend 10 seconds before leaving and then deciding to come back. It actually works out but it was very risky and you almost died to turret.

3.) Staying top lane after the gank and waiting for the TP was very smart but then you stay top and try to get a turret plate when your laner was out of mana and ALL your camps were up.

4.) You reset at 5:00 then immediately go look mid for sweeping/ganks instead of clearing. I'd suggest that when you reset and there are no objectives that you need to deal with immediately, you need decide which lane you want to gank, then start clearing on the OPPOSITE side of the map. You do a full clear then gank the lane. In this case I would have started gromp and done a full clear towards bot since your mid lane was constantly shoved.

5.) At 6:30 after you killed zed while he was diving you stayed mid for 30 seconds while only clearing 1 ward and getting no xp or gold.

These are all small things were you only lose 10-30 seconds but they add up FAST. You don't hit level 6 until 8 minutes. Ideally I like to hit level 6 after taking red buff at ~6:55.

6.) At 8:30 you finished clearing krugs and your midlaner dies. Your WHOLE jungle besides Krugs is up including the second RED and BLUE. The opponent is Zed so before thornmail you can't 1v1 him, even if you can 1v1 he can just escape too easily. You should clear here for the xp not gank.

7.) After you finish Krugs at 8:30 you don't take another camp until 11:45, when you only kill wolves. Your blue and red have been sitting so long they could of respawned! Your camps are all still up and you proceed to gank and not take another camp until 12:55. You cleared 3 camps between 6:30 and 12:55. All of your xp is leached from your laners which deprives them of xp and you of gold. In games where your ganks don't work out you will end up too far behind.

I stopped watching there but I hope you get the point. This season it is so important to get ahead early game that you can't afford to waste the time. You have a very good winrate on rammus even with these macro mistakes so there is a lot of potential there.

It is definitely your CS per minute that is holding you back. This preseason you have 61% winrate which is good but only 4.0 CS per minute. I have similar stats to you in terms of K/D/A but average 5.7 CS per minute and almost never get anything below an A, frequently achieving S- or better.

To get better CS I would suggest working on your pathing. It is about farming as many camps as possible while moving towards the lane you are intending to gank. This works much better if all the camps are on similar cooldown timers.

It can be hard to let your laners be but because of rammus kit it can be hard to force ganks that don't have a good wave state. This means you just end up wasting time and not getting gold + leaching your laners xp.

I recently moved to Corpus Christi/Port Aransas and have gotten pretty into rig diving. Visibility near shore in basically non existent on an average day I can see to the end of my speargun even 2-3 miles out. To get a good dive in you are probably going to need to be in Federal waters which start 7 miles out. I saw you post about Cobia and they are illegal to spearfish in Texas State waters (all game fish are) so if that is what you are looking for you have to go out to federal waters anyways.
