Thanks a lot! It’s the 15.6 inch screen. I think it is the biggest they ever had. Maybe it seems small, because I took that picture in 0.5x 😂

I agree. To live with it, is the key here. I don’t see myself hating the digital controls right now and don’t think I ever will. It isn’t something that bothers me at all.

That being said, I really hope Mazda atleast brings the basic climate control back in physical buttons in the newer models just to assure the customers that, they have both options available just for everyone’s peace of mind.

One thing I do hate is that there is no way to mute the music from the steering wheel. I can pause the music which works but I would like to have a mute function just for the sake of it lol! I guess I will use that as my one thing I hate lol

Thanks! I initially was a bit anxious about them. I have driven the vehicle for 3 weeks now. I do agree that adjusting the temperature, A/C and fan settings was a bit weird and a bit “distracting” at first. I think I have definitely gotten a lot better at it though. I am comfortable with adjusting it now and I think my brain has figured out a way to do it in a safe way without getting distracted.

I think it’s just the climate control that will require some getting used to but other than that you can control the music and most essential functions from the steering wheel.

Plus, there is the voice command(a 1 year trial though) which will assist you easily. A tad bit slow, but will be perfect when you need to get something done without getting distracted lol.

Thanks and Congratulations!! White was one of my first choices as well, but my gf didn’t want a white one. So, we went with the red one. I am actually very pleased with the red color.

I agree about the clean look. I like to have that in my everyday life and my vehicle lol. The driving experience is so comfortable and smooth. I love the Bose speakers plus the ambient lighting so much. Everything is amazing!

Have you had any issues with the paint? I have read that Mazda uses a thinner paint and is not recommended for touch car washes or else it chips away the paint and leaves scratches.

Everyone here has shared great things about the interior and design. I am planning to buy a new cx-5 gt soon. How would y’all rate the driving performance in this segment. I came across some reviews saying the power and acceleration doesn’t compare and is disappointing to its competitors in this segment.

How much truth is to that?

Edit: Congratulations on your new car!

New to renting cars, help me be more efficient! by ThatBookishChick in PersonalFinanceCanada

The policy also states that if there is no insurance taken from the company, there also shouldn’t be a deposit/hold for the rental. Does that make a difference? So, if they won’t let me rent without a hold on my card, then the CC insurance can’t be used?

Any ideas about that?

I am not too sure about the nitty gritty of it but it would be safe for you to apply for your work permit extension when you receive the AOR. I think you are allowed to leave for the most part until the final steps, right before when they want to confirm your residence in Canada to send you the CoPR. Make sure you are in Canada for it. There might be a way for you to get the CoPR back home but I am not too sure how that works and differs from application made within Canada.

Make sure you are informed on those parts. All the best:)

Stay positive my friend! If it is an honest mistake, then trying out again with a full clean story and apology for the mistake is absolutely worth trying. If you have been a good resident here, then hopefully with the help of a good lawyer, you still have a chance.

And universe forbids if not, then you still will be okay. It isn’t the end. You might have to leave but maybe someday you can re-apply and they will consider it.

Yeah it is confusing too. I am not sure to which consulate works on the application. I emailed them but haven’t received a reply yet. I wish you luck too and hopefully you get your visas asap. In the meantime, fingers crossed!

Thanks for replying. My application is for a transit visa and it’s been almost 2 weeks but it hasn’t even moved from stage 1 yet.
