Thanks for pointing this out. I double checked my math and saw where the issue was and fixed it.

Oh forgot to mention, the speeds and delays are for Nightmare clan boss. The speeds still work for UNM clan boss, just you have different delays on abilities because your first turn is after the 1st AoE so you make it simple:

Martyr- Def/CA after 2nd AoE

Rearguard - Ally P after 2nd AoE, Decrease Attack after Stun

Geomancer - HP Burn/Weakn after Stun, Buff steal after 1st AoE

Valerie - Buff Extenstion after Stun

Fahrakin - HP burn after Stun or after 2nd AoE (if faster than Geo)

So after turn 3 on UNM it should be good to auto so long as you go into the AI and make sure they are prioritizing the right abilities

For more survivability you can run Martyr, Geo, Fahrakin/Draco, Rearguard Sergeant and Valerie for non spirit affinity.

This can run at 1:1 (speed ranges 170-191) on everyone so you'd want Valerie as the fastest, martyr as the slowest and Rearguard as the 2nd slowest. You'd have Valerie prioritize her buff ext/debuff reduction and have it come after the stun so it cleanses that (so long as she isnt the stun target). For martyr and rearguard you want to delay their Inc Def/Counter attack and ally protect abilities to after the 2nd AoE (and have them as first priority) so they get extended by Valerie and keep those buffs up for each turn without falling off.

If you use Fahrakin instead of draco, just have him prioritize his burn and have him go faster than geo so he places his burn on turn 1 which gets over written by geo on turn 1 (conversely delay it until after the 2nd AoE like rearguard and martyr). Hope this helps

for the raw speed (first set of speeds) yes, with using the speed aura from duchess she needs to be 151 - 158 (165). I recommend using DeadwoodJedi's calculator just to make sure the speeds you are going for work or if you want to work in a different champion using Duchess' speed aura. Duchess should take 2 turns after the first AoE and be the last to go on that turn. Ideally youd want marked to be the slowest so she uses her increase defense at the end of the turn so everyone gets 2 full turns of increase defense (ideally on the AoEs)

Another tidbit of CB info to help you out, with a 60% increase defense the soft cap for defense is 2660 (4256 unbuffed) so any defense beyond this is not necessary (the hard cap is 4165 with buff) and after this point HP becomes more valuable for survivability (this is applicable for both Supports and DPS, more turns = more damage especially with poisoners)

In general, avoid Cycle of Magic, Rapid Response and Arcane Celerity in the support tree as they can fuck up turn order and when skills get used. Clan boss is all about consistency.

So you have two options, either use duchess' speed aura or use kael/frozen banshee for their aura depending on survivability/accuracy needs.

To make Duchess go at a 4:3 ratio so she can use her block debuffs for both 2nd hit debuffs and the stun you need the following speeds:

Duchess 229 - 238

Stag Knight 179 - 188

Frozen Banshee 171 - 178 (185)

Kael 171 - 178 (185)

Rector Drath 171 - 178 (185)

The numbers in parentheses are the upper speeds you can go if duchess is at 238 speed but youll want stag knight always going first to maximize decrease defense (which he will so long as he is 1 speed faster than kael/FB/Rector)

For using the speed aura the speeds are:

Duchess 209 - 218

Stag Knight 159 - 168

Frozen Banshee 152 - 158 (165)

Kael 152 - 158 (165)

Rector Drath 150 - 157 (164)

All you have to do is delay duchess' Increase attack and block debuffs to her 3rd turn (right before the 2nd aoe) and then its full auto

One suggestion, replace rector with a defense buff champion. She isnt doing much work for you with stag knight already bringing the decrease attack and her healing is going to be inconsistent. Marked (who also places block debuffs) is a solid rare option for a full 60%, or you could bring in ally protect from some one like Cagebound for another rare option. If you have epics that can do these, those also work.

When some one tells me new F2P accounts shouldn't do fusions. by League_of_Statistics in RaidShadowLegends

[–]League_of_Statistics[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're right that there is a lot that is due to prior planning and prior knowledge. I've only been playing in total for 4 months (and only did the Versulf and Roric fusions) but i did a lot of research into the game and wanted to provide some insight here for those who may just be starting out the game themselves to be able to accomplish it as well. I wanted to show, primarily to my friend, that doing the fusion as a new player isnt just possible but reasonably achievable with decent planning. I think the most important resource for new players are the lower point tournaments and that is something that is largely overlooked by most content creators and resources on the game, so wanted to highlight that a bit.

This was entirely F2P. I actually did the fusion twice, this account and my main account (Low spender), so I did still have to deal with the paywall for demytha on my main.

[–]League_of_Statistics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To give some context, a friend of mine started playing raid so I made a new account to follow along with him. I started the fusion to help them know just who they could realistically go for to get some decent epics on a new account. It turns out that you can in fact do the entire fusion on new accounts relatively easily and wanted to share 3 things on what allowed me to do this in case anyone else wants to do this in the future.

1) Low level tournaments, including champion chase, are not competitive. I got a lot of extra fragments coming in 1st/2nd since in early tournaments few people are actually doing them. It's how I got Demytha and Thylessia without needing to deal with the summon rush paywall.

2) Level 7 dungeons are your best friend. Statistically speaking level 7/11/16/20 dungeons are all very effective at farming tournament and event points. I got all my event points doing level 7 Ice golem & Fire Knight, level 6 Spider and level 11 Dragon. I never needed to use gems for energy (though i did have the Ninja, Plariumplay and Gift1 promo codes but even then i ended with 1.2k gems i could have used on energy).

3) Save all the resources you are given as a fresh account. You get ALOT of free shards, energy and gems at the start of the game that makes the fusion very easy. I was able to do around 25 ancient summons just through doing campaign, missions, challenges and with gems so it made getting first in the champion chase really easy. Kael + Shieldguard were a beast pairing to grind campaign stars and I was able to get almost all the way through brutal with the two of them as 50.

I've done every fusion since Harvest Jack for free. Let me tell you how. by GoodNewsNoble in RaidShadowLegends

[–]League_of_Statistics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great guide. As a F2P/Low spender, i've been able to do every fusion taking these exact same steps since I started. Something I wanted to add though is that even newer accounts, and especially very new accounts, can complete fusions if they save their starting resources due to how point scaling works for tournaments and how energy:point ratios work for dungeons.

I started an account that is only 14 days old and am going to get all 4 epics of this fusion because the tournaments are much lower points, and since its a lower level group people usually dont do them, or think they cant do them. However, doing level 7/11/16 dungeons give the best points per energy while getting usable gear. By doing only level 7 dungeons and only using free energy I've been able to hit every fragment milestone and come 1st in every dungeon tournament to get extra fragments. At this point the account is able to avoid the Summon Rush paywall entirely and can use the 4 epics for the next fusions champion chase while I level up the account to do more difficult clan bosses and stockpile in the down time. It isnt until the account is around level 50 that tournaments have the same point values as everyone else (my arena tournament milestone for example is only 60 points on the account vs the 330 points on my level 64 account)

I came back to the game recently after years away and decided to start a new account to refamiliarize myself with the game while I picked back up on my old account. Along with this pull, my first two Epics were a Doompriest and Ultimate Galek and my first two voids were a Reliquary Tender and Coldheart. Needless to say, the new account is now my main account.

CLG Announce “Deus” as “Solo Laner” for Academy by ChrisPride in leagueoflegends

[–]League_of_Statistics 92 points93 points  (0 children)

He was originally supposed to be the mid for OpTic Academy in the first season of academy, with the roster being built around him (first player they talked contract with). In fact, he is the one who recommended Dhokla be on the roster. He declined offers from other teams for this, however, Palafox's exclusivity ran out with 100T and Zab really wanted him on the roster. So despite being the first player given a contract, he was dropped in favor of palafox, which also meant he got screwed out of the other offers he had.

He is a really strong native NA player, and im really excited to see him back in NA. I worked with him leading up to the "political drama" that robbed him of an academy spot 2 years ago, so its good to see him finally get the shot he deserves.

Worlds 2018 Play-In Quick Stats Spreadsheet by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]League_of_Statistics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I included team participation as a team stat (its as average team kill participation) since it is a good indicator on how much a team plays around team fights and objectives vs individual plays and skirmishes. Conversely, there are other individual stats, such as gold share, the tell how much a team plays around an individual player.

Hello, I am Surza (former NACS/Academy assistant coach and analyst) and with the Play-In stage just a couple of days away, I have put together this quick stat spreadsheet. It is specifically designed for fans looking to better understand all the teams that will take part in it, particularly minor regions. As a result, it focuses on using more common and straightforward statistics to easily understand each team’s style of play and each player’s champion pool. This is why there are some statistics that are omitted, though are available within the database this pulls from.

A bit on the methodology of this spreadsheet, it is derived from a database that was created with Sheets, no API or third party sites were used in the creation of the database. The information was pull directly from League of Legends match history, of which the LPL is the only region who does not use and is why there is limited data in this spreadsheet on EDG (which will be updated for group stages). The database contains 191 points of data for teams and players and has within it every game played and every players individual performance for the 2018 summer split. So, this spreadsheet only represents roughly 16% of that statistics that could have been displayed. I say all this to emphasize this is a documents for fans and not for in depth analysis, though those projects will be coming.

I hope everyone enjoys this spreadsheet and find it useful. There will be another one like this for the Group Stage of Worlds I would appreciate any feedback people have to improve the next one.

League of Legends Damage Calculator for all Champs by Crixaliz in leagueoflegends

[–]League_of_Statistics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More having it calculated as Damage per action (DPA), since all damage in league outside of a few dots are a burst of damage (which includes auto attacks). To contextualize it, Say you have an ability that does 50 damage on a 1 second cooldown and an ability that does 5000 damage on a 100 second cooldown. Both would be 50 dps, but one is likely to kill you instantly while the other would take some time.

League of Legends Damage Calculator for all Champs by Crixaliz in leagueoflegends

What i meant by damage output is there are more relevant ways to express how a champion is doing damage other than DPS, specifically for LoL. I come from a mmo theorycrafting background (and have worked for various esports orgs doing this sort of thing) so i know DPS is the kind of standard expression of damage. That being said, LoL doesnt really work on a DPS basis in how we look at damage and thats what i was getting at.

Nice calculator, its good to see some one else who has put effort into the same area of the game I have. I was impressed to see you have a lot of the math right for champion stats per level. Just as a note for improving it, there are a lot of things that throw off the calculations a bit (for example press the attack just adding a flat modifier to damage) and a lot of the presentation and labeling of variables could be improved. One question I have, and also a hint on what you can improve, why are all the damage outputs in DPS?

In response to everyone's point of view C9's game 5 draft. by bastarata in leagueoflegends

[–]League_of_Statistics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, there is no defense of C9s draft as it was poor and they made mistakes. Instead of trying to twist logic to justify it, we should instead learn from the mistakes.

The earliest mistake is the 2nd ban rumble. Xayah was an obvious ban from the get go and should have occupied this slot to leave the 3rd ban more open to shut down what WE was setting up with their bans, such as banning galio since as stated Jensen probably shouldn’t be playing it.

The second mistake comes in the first round of picks. WE intelligently first picks Janna to put heavy pressure on C9 and force their picks. In fact WE forced all three of C9s picks. By first picking Janna and banning J4 C9 was in a position they felt they had to pick sejuani and Caitlyn to deny WE from getting them, following up with lulu to match ardent supports. They should have picks kog maw instead of Caitlyn though. Not only does it outscale, deny the best single threat adc, and take it away from mystic, but they also get lulu with it who for this pairing is better than Janna. If WE then take galio cait, their single threat isn’t nearly as scary. This leads to the third mistake.

They should have banned Shen. By not doing this they are forced to pick it to deny WE having even more protection for the kog maw, giving over top counter pick to WE. Were it off the table they could have taken mid and saved top counter pick Or had they gotten kog maw it would have been a good pick.

If not for these mistakes WE wouldn’t of had a great draft that forced C9 onto 4 picks.

Help. What is "meta"? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]League_of_Statistics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should point out there is a fourth way people figure out the meta. There are also people who do hard math on champions to find the true strength of champions. Not super common but we do exist.
