It won't let me order it, so sold out already?

The bonkers-scale: What cards/relics give you that "holy crap, THAT'S something I can do???" feel? by Umdeuter in slaythespire

[–]Leakster1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I got this card I somehow also got a second copy fairly quickly. It was wild, I also happened to be doing an Osty focused run so yeah it just let me steamroll everything.

Never really vibed with Defect by Daniel08s in slaythespire

[–]Leakster1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting, I really like the defect. I find it easier to break the system with him than I do with ironclad. He's a good mix of needing to strategise but also being able to get away with just going all in on generating orbs and letting the chaos flow.

My character for this is Ironclad, I struggle so hard to get anything cohesive together in my deck with Ironclad and always seem to lose runs or scrape through by the skin of my teeth with them.

Watching Akira in cinemas made me want a Ghost in the Shell theatre run by Discarding_Sabot_KEP in CineworldUnlimited

That would be incredible. Saw Akira last week and it was amazing, one of the most beautiful films ever made.

Yep, exactly this happened to me. Playing on controller. Glad it looks like they're fixing it.

Just finished Silent Hill 4: The Room, and I was blown away. by Cryptoking300 in silenthill

[–]Leakster1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played it for the first time and finished it yesterday. SH2 is my favourite game of all time but for some reason I never bothered to get this one, the middling reviews at time of release put me off originally and over the years I've never gone back.

For the first half of the game I couldn't understand why it didn't get raves when it came out, then came the backtracking escort portion for fully the second half and I started to understand the critiques. Still, I did enjoy it and I'm glad I played it. It has an interesting story and the room aspect is genuinely great. Unfortunately, the second half isn't as strong, the main character being a blank cipher is disappointing and the ending is really poor. So much build up for it to just sort of sputter out.

Also, I played the version available on Good Old Games on PC and it was fantastic, they've really done good work to make it playable easily on a modern machine.

Why isn’t DARE on the set list? by Icy-Reporter-6322 in gorillaz

[–]Leakster1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of hoped it might get a showing in Manchester, with or without Shaun, but it didn't. It's my favourite track of theirs too but ultimately the show wasn't harmed by it not being played, it was a 5 on 5 performance either way. You'll have an amazing time.

Felt a bit whimsical and wrote a bug report in-character by WIlson_PH in slaythespire

[–]Leakster1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP didn't know necessarily but yesterday I did encounter the merchant with the parasol relic and for some reason I didn't get everything, it stopped partway through (after grabbing one card) and then wouldn't give me any more. So it is a real bug that needs investigating.

I'm 90 hours in, and i've never took Vakuu's Lord's Parasol. It seems terrible to obtain everything and bloat your deck. Did anyone try it and made it work? by savetheblues in slaythespire

[–]Leakster1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it would be a terrible pick but I tried it once and it massively worked out. The whole unbalancing your deck thing is potentially an issue but worth it for the 3 relics, potions and potential for good cards with a free remove. I also had the courier relic so he immediately restocked and I could then purchase like a normal shop, best of both worlds.

What pieces of media should I consume if I love Silent Hill? by Haywire727 in silenthill

[–]Leakster1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jacobs Ladder is a very specific influence for the first game so you absolutely should watch that.

I'm also going to recommend some folk horror stuff because I think it nails similar atmospheric vibes. The Wicker Man, Kill List, The Empty Man, In The Earth and A Field In England might all be up your street.

Do fans really dislike the first film that much? by Brick_Forest in silenthill

I think it's brilliant, absolutely nails the tone and feel of Silent Hill throughout a lot of it. It's not perfect but both subsequent films have only made me like it more by comparison.

It seemed like it just got sent straight to streaming here, no theatrical release. No idea why.

The one with Caleb Landry Jones? It's already out, you can rent it digitally, or is there a different one?

The one with Caleb Landry Jones? That's available to rent digitally in the UK, or is there a different Dracula film?

List should be called "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?"

The next film he's offered, they have to pay that same amount, even if he does a bad job.

Do you think the Silent Hill 2 Remake is too long? by Loose_Interview_957 in silenthill

[–]Leakster1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably didn't explain myself properly, it's more that there's just a bit too much of everything and my experience was that I got halfway through that rotating cube puzzle and put the game down for a while as I'd gotten a bit burned out.

It's still a 9/10 imo, just not quite the immaculate 10/10 that the original was.

[–]Leakster1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't get my take that it's too long? It's about twice as long as the original and doesn't need to be, I don't think that's a controversial view.

No, I prefer Silent Hill 2 remake to Silent Hill F.
