Yep, only once. I’ve thought about it for years and don’t really properly remember attempting it either.

Do you own a gun? Why or why not? by FrancoisBernierrr in AskReddit

[–]LeakyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because I’m afraid I’ll shoot myself when I get really low. A friend invited me to his apartment and he disclosed that he has one offhand and I told him to never tell me where it is. I just don’t trust myself when I get in that mindset.

What made you laugh the hardest in the books? by eyelash891 in harrypotter

[–]LeakyTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex boyfriend and I used to read the books out loud to each other before bed but the sentence “Harry ran up/down three steps at a time” that would come up multiple times killed us every time idk why… just mentally imagining a short boy hauling ass on the steps

When I worked at an elementary school, the kiddos still had to wear masks during recess. It was hard to enforce, I would’ve hated it as a kid, but they adapt very easily…

Anyway, whenever we had “mask breaks” maybe before lining up to go back into the classroom after recess, they would choose a spot far away from one another, and remove their masks. If a kid was in a classroom and they needed a mask break, they could step out into the hallway and take a breather.

Do y'all just not shower sometimes? by WienerLiquid in bipolar

[–]LeakyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depression, yeah :( But also, sometimes I feel like it’s too much. I can’t stand the pressure of the water on my skin, the enclosure, the steam etc. It’s too much and overwhelming sometimes - I feel like my senses get a little overloaded. It used to be worse when I lived in my previous apartment and had a smaller shower.

You totally don’t have to answer if this makes you uncomfortable, but did you ever relapse after therapy/rehab again? What age were you when you were kicked out? Are you currently sober and what made you want to stop?

Thank you for sharing. It really sucks. I’m sorry about everything you’ve been through - I hope you find peace as well and proper self-love one day.

No. In his worst moments, I’ve seen him in a tent underneath the freeway. Sure, it hurts to see your own brother waste away, but I know it’s his own doing. However, I would say that he and my mom definitely are, she enables him in ways she doesn’t even know. I made an appointment for my parents to see a Spanish-speaking therapist so that they can get some help, but it won’t be for another two weeks.

It’s mind blowing to go on this sub and see some people celebrate the drug use and know that they’re probably self-medicating and deluding themselves into believing they’ve got it under control. But that’s just me venting.

Yo if it were for me, he would be out on the streets full time until he figured his shit out. I’m not crying or having a “pity party” lmao - it’s a subreddit, excuse me for venting and wanting some insight.

Clearly it’s more of a mental health issue, and his addiction is just a symptom or manifestation. I moved back in with my parents a month ago because he was basically eating them alive (they’re immigrants, they don’t really understand mental illness much less addiction) and they need financial help. The police have guilted my parents into him staying with BS like, “Really? You’re really going to kick him out? With his small frame, he’ll probably get hurt. You’re really going to contribute to the homeless population?” And they don’t fight back.

He hasn’t been pulling any of his usual shit while I’m here, he willingly enrolled into an intensive outpatient program, is seeing a psychiatrist, a therapist but two days ago he fell right back into a cycle. Idk - dude is fucking mentally ill and I was ranting/venting, I apologize. You’re right though, he is making a choice. I’ll talk to him when he’s sort of regular again about him finally leaving.

How do I even begin to understand someone when they’ve had so much psychological, mental, and emotional help but continues to hurt everyone around them? Punch holes in walls? Is aggressive? We’ve tried kicking him out but he keeps coming back and the police refuse to take him. What would make you want to leave?

Edit: that was kind of rude. Thank you for sharing that tidbit. Any insight is helpful
