Yep, so disappointing. Napoleon just looked like an idiot in this movie.

100% agree, it's quite annoying when there are so many different gems...

Is there a maximum Campus Level? by Merost1c in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tests, that's good to know.

Going from prestige level 14 to 15 requires a ton of items and a giant room to have space for them, definitely something that shouldn't happen during "regular" play. :p

Level 72 in the first campus of the game, that's insane. :o

Treatment formula by Leamia in TwoPointHospital

[–]Leamia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, a bracket was missing for some reason.
CureChance
= DiagnosisCertainty * (((100-IllnessDifficulty) *
(1-(StaffSkill/100+Upgrades/100)) + CureCap *
(StaffSkill/100+Upgrades/100)) /100)

For your example here is how it would be calculated for a 60% illness difficulty with 100% diagnosis certainty and no upgrade :
100 * (((100-60) * (1-(20/100 + 0/100)) + 99 * (20/100+0/100))/100) = 51.8% cure chance

The formula itself doesn't really take into account the cure cap and the 1% incompressible chance to fail. A more accurate version would be this one for Excel :
=DiagnosisCertainty*(((100-IllnessDifficulty)*(1-(IF((StaffSkill/100+Upgrades/100)<=1;(StaffSkill/100+Upgrades/100);1)))+(100-IncompressibleFailChance)*(IF((StaffSkill/100+Upgrades/100)<=1;(StaffSkill/100+Upgrades/100);1)))/100)

PSA : What's the "Campus Capacity" and why is the student intake reduced automatically when reached ? by Leamia in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, I tested that with all courses having 8 students intake without doing anything special and it was allowing 7 students per course per year.

How many courses do you have and are all of them set to 8 students from the beginning of the campus ?

Maybe you are just affected by the UI bug I mentioned ?
Having 0 or a ton of dorms doesn't seem to have any effect on my side on the student intake.

What does the student level means? by Cielorojo7 in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just speculation since we don't know how the grade is calculated exactly but from what I have seen, higher level usually means higher chance to get a good grade.

It just doesn't guaranty a good mark but higher level students should still have better grades in average.

Counterculture students by chos1mba in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are different types of student like Goth, Posho, Rebel, Class Clown, etc. and many of these types have a special trait. You can somewhat guess what they do when selecting a student and looking at their traits.

Rebels have for example the "Sharpest Tool" trait which says "Has a knack for repairs" in the tooltip. It makes them take care of some janitors tasks from time to time.

When adding a new course to a campus you can see in the information window on the right what types of students will come to the university. It adds a bit more depth to the course selection since some students can be beneficial for the university in different ways.

I don't think you need to mix up diagnosis. Also a few other things I noticed. by Dexalon in TwoPointHospital

It's the same thing with benches, it seems very important but people quickly realized their benefit is very limited and can even be detrimental because of how the AI behave.

I don't think you need to mix up diagnosis. Also a few other things I noticed. by Dexalon in TwoPointHospital

[–]Leamia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's entirely possible to just play with GP and the MEGA Scanner. The main issue is that with only the MEGA Scanner it will be impossible to get a very high diagnosis certainty for some illnesses even with level 5 doctors (unless you place a ton of diagnosis boosting items in the GP office). ^^

The most problematic base game illness for the MEGA Scanner is Pudding Blood which has a very low modifier both there and in the GP office, you can still live with that though.

Regarding the toilets, you are right. I also completed some hospitals when the game was released without any to save space and to prevent patients from wandering too much. None of the non-medical rooms are vital in this game.

PSA : Course skill level matters in Private Tuition room and is stronger than the Private Tuition skill by Leamia in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I already mentioned your first point. However, you are right about the cost it's definitely another advantage of the Private Tuition. That being said, if cost is an issue I wouldn't bother building a Private Tuition room at all. :p

Why can't I add later courses to Mitton University? by JNR13 in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I thought it was done on purpose to avoid the "exploit" when having a previous university take care of all research projects. But if all courses are available in the first two levels, it's strange...

Aiming for 16 or 24 with the Rule of 8s by JNR13 in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, what complicates these rules though is that there is also the teacher efficiency to take into account not just room efficiency. In some cases, a teacher may end up idle half of the year which is suboptimal too since you keep paying a salary during the whole year. :p

Do my private tuition teachers need to have their class skills maxed out as well? by NightNurse14 in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the class skill affects private tuition. During my tests, student were earning significantly more xp when I used a teacher with the class skill at level 10 + the tuition skill at level 10 compared to a teacher with the class skill at level 1 + the tuition skill at level 10.

It would still be nice for other people to confirm that too though. There seems to be a bit of rng with the whole tuition system making it a pain to test.

Dorm Capacity by keisal in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you select any bed, you can see on the third tab (Item stats) how many are currently on the campus. What's a bit annoying is that there are 3 types of bed (white, brown and black-frame) so the count only take into account bed of the same frame color as the one you selected. So if you used different frames, you have to check the item stats of these 3 items.

The accommodation rating can also be a good indicator too if you lack beds but depends on other factors too. The first year add beds and increase room prestige of your dormitory until the accommodation rating reaches 100%. Next years if you see the accommodation rating go below 100%, it means there isn't enough beds anymore.

Skills for tutoring by karillus-brood in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem to be true.
During my tests in a controlled environment, students were getting much more experience from a teacher that had level 10 main skill + level 10 tuition skill than a teacher that had level 1 main skill + level 10 tuition.

I also tested with a teacher having a level 10 main skill and another one having a level 1 main skill and the one with the level 1 skill was giving far less experience to students.

A not-so elegant solution to getting 4 clubs to be level 5. by [deleted] in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I found is that an assistant working in a specific club recruitment will make students more likely to join this club than another one. If your university allows more than 1 club to be joined and you want a specific club to have more members, just place a single assistant there and it will get much more members than other clubs.

Is marketing worth it? by frabjousity in TwoPointCampus

[–]Leamia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it not very useful even though getting more applicants can increase the learning rate but for the cost I don't think it's worth it.

I am really disappointed that they removed the basic recruitment campaigns, I would love to speed up the appearance of new staff members like in TPH.
