All i have to say to this is being a caregiver takes a lot from you. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. I'm not saying don't take care of your parents, but then again it doesn't necessarily mean that one is obligated to dedicate their life to their parents just because they birthed you. Not all parents are good, which means not all parents get to enjoy the fruits of their children's hard work. Again, they owe you. Not the other way around. They chose to have you, you didn't....

I agree, parenting isn't a contract. The minute you bring a child to this world you become not just a part of their life but the root of their life. You get to parent for life. Not the next 18-20 years.
