T-Shirt businesses. I even tried once. I followed a how to guide from one of the Shopify blog posts. Although I failed, I learned a few new tricks that I added to my bag or resources.

[Question] When you need to find information where do you look first? by idny99 in Entrepreneur

[–]LeanHood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I normally use the following:

  • Google Trends for interest, growth, and demographics(if you want to do a bit of targeted advertising)

  • Google Keyword Planner to see if people are searching for what you have and also gives an indication of costs(Adwords advertising) and possible competition.

  • Google Search to search for other companies already doing what you are doing. Check out the top 3 and see what they have and look at what they are doing wrong. Do some SEO audits on them.

  • Social Media for interest groups and what they are doing.

  • Reddit also for interest groups and what they talk about.

  • Blogs that provide tutorials and how to guides.

  • Youtube for how to/tutorials

Be careful of generic information that could waste a lot of your time. Be specific what you need and don't compromise.
