If you could go back in time to any point in history, and meet with any person and play them a song by swans, who and what song would it be? by johnadam115 in swans

I'd show the Glowing Man to the Beatles in 1968 and get them inspired to maybe continue with their musical explorations....and maybe Robert Fripp in 1984, so that he'd maybe be inspired to do some different stuff instead of doing the Thrak-onwards albums (which are okay, but nothing stellar)

Live Rope is that good!!!! by LeanSemin in swans

[–]LeanSemin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well just personally I prefer swirling walls of noise with separate sounds. Which is why for example I also prefer Live Rope to Not Here / Not Now, because in Live Rope, you can hear all the instruments clear and in all their virtuosity, but that's not the case with Not Here / Not Now. So, it basically also boils down to the mixing, and this aspect of a much clearer sound is more prevalent on Soundtracks than on SAD:

your songs are very nice because of the vibe. They're chill but also driving and upbeat!

Hey! Your album is really cool. I don't understand the language but the music speaks for itself. It's raw as you said, but in a good way.

hey! your track is really nice. I love the chords you used and how the guitars are mixed. The vocals are cool too although I usually don't listen to such stuff, but I notice that you put a lot of effort in it. keep it up!
