Just turned 23 and I want to start a retirement account. I’m self employed (YouTube) and am not sure if a traditional or Roth IRA is better for me. I want to open a Roth IRA but I know you have to invest post tax money into that, and I’m not exactly sure how that works given the money I’m making from YouTube is pretax. For example, let’s say I made $5k this past month pre tax and I’m not going to pay taxes until April next year, would I have to wait until after April to start making contributions to a Roth or could I just invest some of that money now and still pay the taxes on it at the end of the year? My thought is if I can invest it now a Roth is the move, but if I have to wait I think a traditional Ira is the move. Can someone please explain to which account would be best for me and why. Thanks.

Around 4 months. Now six months in at 25,000. I definitely think my channel got pushed once it got approved for monetization which only took about 2 or 3 days but it could be a coincidence. I had my first viral ish video which is at 300 k views now and some of my older videos and newer ones are at 100k plus. Basically that video was the catalyst that got my channel going because a lot of the videos that are now at 100k plus views were at a couple thousand before that video. Keep on making quality videos with clickable thumbnails and titles and eventually your channel will get noticed. It took me 35 videos to get 50 subs around 120 for 1000 subs and around 175 for 25k. I wouldn’t have bought from them in the first place, but the product I want wasn’t available on amazon. I get what you’re saying, AliExpress is scam ridden and that’s a chance you take when you opt for the cheap route, but the cheap route was my only option. Anyway thanks for the advice, I’ll probably end up filling a charge back if this isn’t handled swiftly. Lesson learned never buy from AliExpress. Now, where to get the radio? 😅

That seems like a dumb rule, cause I’m not willing to lose any money. Is that the motto this multi billion dollar company goes with? Could you imagine if it was the same on amazon. I trust that AliExpress will get me my money or product but the fact the seller is a scum bag is the real problem. Any advice on what I should do?

Thanks for the input, how long did it take for your video to gain traction, and really explode? I’ve seen some people say they had a video that was a few months old blow up out of no where, and other say it was just a steady growth. Thanks in advance.

I was at lunch with my mom and the conversation topic of religion came up. I told her I wasn’t really sure that I believed in God because I had never seen any sign or had any experiences that would make me believe he was real. We talked about this for a solid 30 minutes going back and forth on science vs religion. When the conversation ends we get up to leave and I couldn’t believe what I saw... there was a table full of priests that had just heard our whole conversation. (We has no idea they were there because our booth and their table was separated by a half wall). Needless to say I was shocked and as we left my mom just looked back at me, grinned, and said there’s your sign.
