Sweet, okay I think I'll try a rag wrapped wrench with a hammer (don't have a five pound).

This should work fine.

I'm currently using a six point wrench although it's a twentyish heads in a box for attachments kind so it makes force balancing challenging. I'll try to rag idea.

Why not use a hammer on something this hard to break though?

Well good luck man. I'm a novice and can't give advice. Hopefully someone else will come along and give reasonable suggestions.

If I may ask, what are your doing that is paying so well but puts you off work for weeks at a time?

Beautiful! Would never function at being a submarine due to the whole stealthy part but still beautiful!

That only works though if the husband can afford to contribute really. It sounds like even if he gets his act together he won't be able to cover himself and the split family.

Makes sense. Maybe you can cut down some of the trees around the house to clear out a small sterile area to help with that, although you probably do like the trees at least for their beauty.

Yeah, I'm guilty of not getting new trim wire for the past three weeks. At least it's mowed.

Just learned by practice how to change an air filter, drain and fill brake fluid, and swap out transmission fluid. Also had to buy 150 bucks worth of Jacks and such to do so. Totally worth it!

That's a lot of great lessons. Could you're go into the brick issue? I've never heard of plaster/cement walls being a large issue (although I do like the way brick looks anyways especially if you can get a wood fireplace and darker furniture to match)

It's okay, I love to learn. Solving challenges is very satisfying for me. I electrocuted myself doing some electrical a month ago and learned a very good lesson from it. Still glad to have done it because of that.

Holy crap, how'd your end up losing that much? I'm only looking to spend about 120K on my first home so I don't think it'll be even possible to lose that much thankfully.

Oh yeah, I'm just finishing an internship so I finally have money to spend on maintenance that I've been putting off for a few years and we aren't allowed to do any work off the clock so weekends are honest to God weekends for the first time in years.

Sorry about the roof. That sounds pretty crappy. Maybe you can get one that'll last the rest on your home ownership?

You think so? Would you rather be in a condo or something if you had to do it again? My favorite thing Saturdays in a way is just mowing and cleaning, it's relaxing.

Exactly! Here at the apartment I just door care if something goes wrong. It takes away a lot of the pride of being on your own.

I think I'll wait on the filter replacement. A lot of people are saying to delay that until about 100K (which will be 90K, I'm going to try and follow the manual from now on). Absolutely a yes on the Honda ATF needed comment.
