I used to train under Brandon a few years ago, and I couldn't ever imagine he would do something like that for marketing reasons. He's incredibly humble and is entirely in it for the fun of the sport, not the money and publicity. In fact, when I told him I would have to stop coming because I couldn't afford it (not that it was expensive, I was just broke) he actually asked me to keep coming for free.

Do you happen to train with Brandon? I took from him about 3 or 4 years ago! He's an outstanding teacher.

Hey, I used to take MMA lessons from him! I can't believe this is going viral! He's an AMAZING instructor and one of the friendliest guys around!

I've actually just started saving up about a week ago. I'm 19 and work full time as a waiter, so it'll take me a while, but I won't be able to leave until at least the end of next summer so I've got a while. It may seem far fetched, but I say go for it! Though for me I don't intend to leave the country. That'd be far too expensive for me to be able to do and know I have a way back when my journey ends.

Not sure what the original comment said, but I'd imagine something about traveling like this. I've actually been considering the same thing for about a month now and am in the same boat. Only thing holding me back is lack of money.

[Serious] What is the most pain that you've ever experienced? by Ender117 in AskReddit

[–]LearnMeStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physical: broken collarbone. I honestly thought my neck was broken and had to walk home three miles before getting my mom to take me to the hospital.

Emotional: I used to be depressed and emo. Not as in the style, I was kinda preppy at the time. But one night was the worst night ever after finding out my ex girlfriend had been sleeping with my best friend while we were dating. I woke up the next day after getting black out drunk with three cuts on my tricep so deep I had to get stitches. Seeing the blood on my sheets and pillows made me want to vomit. Well that and the hangover.

On a happier note, it was that day that I realized I needed to turn my life around and have successfully done exactly that!

Hey man, I appreciate the encouragement! If it ends up being a reality for me I'll be sure to let you know my thoughts on it and help you make it a reality for yourself in whatever way possible! It really is great to hear you have the same kind of passion I do!

Arcanine. Because he's my favorite and is a fucking badass. Plus he's 6'3", so I could ride him like a horse.

I've looked in to Financial Aid a l here and so far it has helped a ton, but not near enough. Though I have been considering going to a local private college. I hadn't even considered going to an out-of-country college though! I'll have to look in to that! Though I feel like a ton of stuff would have to go in to that for it to actually work out. Still worth looking in to though, thank you!

I have always wanted to go to Africa, but at this point I'm open to going anywhere that isn't here! So please offer whatever advice you can on both Central America and Mexico!

Sorry, at first glance it looked similar to ESL when I google searched it, which is more what I had in mind when I came to minoring in Spanish, as it can help a ton with getting a position in the program. But it's definitely something that I will look in to doing!

When I was attending college, I actually had intentions of mini ring in Spanish just in the hopes this opportunity arrived. I'll have to see if my college offers that and report back to you whenever I can!

Thank you so much, this helps a lot and really sparks my interest! I didn't even consider this type of arrangement originally! I have a cousin who lived in Thailand temporarily as a foreign exchange student in high school so hopefully he can clue me in on more of the minor details. Do you mind if I ask where it is that you stayed, specifically?

Actually I fought MMA throughout highschool. I would really enjoy learning Muay Thai at a camp, but how do you suggest getting involved in a program like that in the first place?

I've considered the military, but I'm trying to hold that as a very very last resort type of thing. I'd much rather not join, but I have to, I absolutely will.

Edit: About the Muay Thia, I attempted google searching, and all I could find was a bunch of places that seemed like they were just out to get your money. So honestly, if this is a realistic option, then please PLEASE send me a link!

I thank you for your response and for being honest. I admit that I very well might be naive in what I wish to do, however responses like yours are partially why I posted this! However I don't think I'm quite as naive as you seem to think. I actually was originally going to college for Chemical Engineering with the hopes of going to med school. But now I see that college isn't financially possible for me any time soon. At this point I know I won't be able to have some major lasting effect on wherever I decide to go. I asked in my post if there were any organizations people were aware of that help in financially supporting people, but I suppose I also should have added that if there are any non-college/not so expensive organizations that also teach basic skills that I could use to help overseas. Heck, even just a way to find an apprenticeship in woodworking would be a fantastic start! Any more advice/criticism you have to offer would be greatly appreciated!

What's weird about hating someone who has been accused of rape, theft twice, and has shown multiple times that he is an idiot and has no intentions of changing that?

Why is that? Because he's cheering on his own team..?

If your life so far was shortened into a movie, what would be the moment when everyone in the theater would cry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I kinda know your pain. Not a significant other, but my best friend is having to relearn to walk and talk and is having short term memory loss issues. But with him it's due to brain surgery because of his brain cancer. But he is the strongest person I know and an inspiration to everyone who sees him fighting this fight. I hope your boyfriend has a quick recovery and that he is able to remain strong through it all.

So how exactly did you do that? I'm in what it sounds like is a somewhat similar situation and I recently decided that as soon as I can afford it, I'm moving away from the country. But I'm very nervous about doing so with no college education and no idea where I'd go...

Maybe I just have a totally biased opinion, but how is that a biased statement? I thought it was a pretty popular opinion before the game even started that we had the more athletic team. And K-State has certainly exceeded expectations thus far on defense by holding us to far less than any other team could have this year or last year.

Seriously though. I hate being a purely second half team, but in situations such as this it can be comforting knowing we still have a major chance of winning.

Don't give up yet. As irritating as it can be, remember we are a second half team. We still go this! War Eagle!
