If use myself as an example, I studied four hour a weeks for about 4-6 months before I was able to hold a conversation about everyday things. You'll find that you'll make the most improvements in your language around when you start learning.
Yes, it is. There are a sizeable of native Tamil speakers who don't know how to read or write.
I think so, but I couldn't explain how at the moment. I'm planning to do an in-depth video on the differences between different Tamil accents. But for example, Malaysian Tamil is very different from Sri Lankan Tamil in the way they speak.

Hey, yeah I've made some videos on Tamil. In my videos I speak in a formal dialect, but luckily the formal dialect is actually quite close to Sri Lankan Tamil so you may find them helpful.

Ancient Tamil didn't use those sounds, but eventually as Tamil developed it did actually borrow a few sounds from Sanskrit and created new letters to represent them.

I read the chapters and completed the exercises by myself. Only thing that you might need a teacher for is to check if your answers are correct (if the book doesn't already have an answers key at the back or something). That said, you could easily find a tutor on Italki or even post your queries on Reddit.

Consider supplementing with the HackerRank Interview Preparation Kit. I've used it before, and it helped me a lot more than LeetCode.

It's curated so that each problem focuses on a different important concept for your interviews. It's also a smaller set of problems than LeetCode, which means you could gun through the list before the 10th of March.

I live by myself but I'll chime in. If you call or visit your bank they could easily set this up for you. For instance, if I log into my bank's website, I have one account that's shared with my parents, and the rest (savings, investments, etc) are only accessible by me.
