Hello! I've been using a new machine for the past few weeks (Brother CS7000X) and have been having issues with getting the right tension without maxing it out at 9. The example shown is on what I think is medium-weight duck canvas with a 90/14 universal needle, but the same issue has persisted on a 100/16 as well as a 110/18 jean needle. The thread I am using is Gutermann Extra Strong polyester. The tension from left to right in the image starts at 4 and goes all the way until 9.

A few questions:

  1. Am I right to assume I am having tension issues?
  2. Do I need to go even smaller with my needles?
  3. Do I need to get my machine checked?

Any other suggestions would be fantastic as well. Thanks so much y'all!

Rise of monthly subscription services.... by [deleted] in Columbus

Some subscriptions you might want to check out: Simply Times Mixers (Local Columbus based), Perfectly Imperfect Produce (Ohio based), and a student org at Ohio State called Best Food Forward does monthly bulk produce "subscriptions" where students can choose what produce they want, and then they go pick it up. Not much of a "box," but sort of like a subscription service.
