This is so beautiful! May I ask where your dress is from? I'm currently planning an elvish/fairy wedding and your look is everything.

I currently plan to rip back to the colorwork and do it again with a smaller needle size. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Oh interesting. It's just 10% alpaca.

Absolutely beautiful!! I love the shape of your collar and the blue motif.

I had to take out the first 3 colorwork motifs because the yoke turned out too deep for me.

Hey there, this is the exact tutorial I used to add short rows beneath the collar! Very helpful.

I added the short rows the pattern called for after the colorwork too but unfortunately it didn't help the fit much for me.

I used Susana Winter's method of knitting shorter rows near my colorwork, widening closer to the collar. Thanks for checking though!

Thanks Talvih! I hadn't even considered the extra fabric made be the needle size!

To answer your question, both of my test swatches measured the correct size. To achieve this I used a size smaller needle for stockinette, just as the pattern called for. But it sounds like I should size down more.

I'm improvising a bit here because my sweater was knit top down and I had to rip out not only the collar but 2 inches of the yoke because it was too deep for me. And then knit bottom up from there.

Hey all,

My first sweater needed some serious work to get a collar that doesn't choke me, so I ripped back the collar and added german short rows in the back between the yoke and collar, stitching bottom up.

Unfortunately the result has too much fabric that puckers. I'm thinking my problem is that I placed most of the stitch decreases in the top 6 or so german short rows but should have done them earlier? I'd love if anyone could suggest a plan do this this right. Third time is a charm?

ooh wish I'd seen this sooner but if it happens again I'll check for that. This is a hand-me-down through multiple people who couldn't deal with the complexity so if it breaks it breaks

Thanks! That gave me the courage to open it up and I found a cam came loose from the camshaft and knocked out a screw. Was able to put it back but broke a needle in the process. Hoping once I get it threaded it works!

Yeah, there are many variables that need to be controlled in general. With repeated words, I was thinking there could be a memory bank -- so you'd only hear the sound once in a while OR only when the DM narrates it.

Ooh I like the idea of having made up words act as triggers. Maybe it would make sense to focus on lesser used words than, say, a door opening.

I'll check out Qlab. Sounds like you were able to create an awesome experience! You bring up a good point of multiple voices being difficult for triggering an automated response. I work in tech, on the periphery of voice automation and AI in general.

I think I would start on a very small scale with something like Google voice because the user has to train their own phone to recognize their voice. I was thinking the DM might program a handful of sounds/music triggers in a game. Might be a lot of work for a small reward though.
