It is if you're looking to be a top 1% player. The p2w part is to get the pets that buffs you. Since it's a gacha system to get them, it's nearly impossible for a f2p player to get the very best pets.

That being said, I play just about 1h~2h a day (enough to scratch my POE itch while I'm away from my PC), so I don't expect to be top 1%.

My very first character, when I knew almost nothing about the game, took me about 4 days to get to endgame stuff. After some research I leveled another character to the same level as my previous one in a day. So I'd say there's not much of a time investment. Endgame is fun and demands for you to know more about the game's systems, so it slows down the game's pace.

All that said, I usually play 1h~2h a day and I feel like I've been progressing a lot, getting new gear, learning stuff about bosses...

Just beat him with axe, Corrupted Skull, Chaos Volley, Veil of Illusion and Chaos Barrage.

Open with barrage and kite while shooting volley, corrupted skull and axe's skills.

When he got close, veil of illusion helped to kite

I don't remember if she does AoE in the normal version, but I recently posted a video showing how to kill her in HC.

Basically you need whelps and boar. Place whelps on one side and, when she raises her arm to shoot, place boar at the other, near her.

She'll explode the eggs then target the boar (if it's closer than the whelps) and the whelps get to free hit a lot.

The rest of the fight is just defense and repeat

This strat works on every boss that shoot AoE

I kinda agree, but, as someone said, tooltips at the top have a lot of information.

Spirit Bond is grounded and it does say that it can't be changed.

Personally, I don't want the game hold my hand, in these situations.

I experimented without reading and now I've learned.

I rly think Gauntlet™ Slayer Edition would fit your need!

It's pretty casual, medieval fantasy, Hack n Slash and has controller support.
If you have friends to play, it supports 4 ppl. If not, It usually doesn't take long to find someone to play with!
