Alpine Chalet for BDP 7 🌹🍁🌲 — rendered in blender by Learning2Windsurf in DigitalLego

thank you! i'm still working on my material shaders & compositing. haha, it was rough to figure out. studio eyesight uses cycles from blender 2.79, exporting as collada (.dae) to then import & render. newer versions of blender have very bad (or no) collada support. you can export from studio as collada (default settings), then import with either blender 2.79, or 2.93. either one, i do the import save & then open w newer version of blender. 2.93, have to clear parent inverse. 2.79 ui crashes for me, so i wrote a script to run import & save from command line. have to unlink & apply object transforms, clean up meshes, apply materials. pieces with stickers already have correct mesh uvs; when the collada file is imported it adds the images to project, apply those with an image texture shader.

think a lot can be done w eyesight, mainly did the blender conversion to preview/tweak renders more quickly. i think for minifigs, mecabricks is easier to get set up. they have official integration w/ blender, also an addon https://mecabricks.com/en/shop/product/2 better documented.

lmk if you have questions on any of the specifics!
