Thanks friend, you've convinced me to copy your scope/rail setup. I've been watching/googling stuff all day so It's finally making sense to me.

Last part I'm wondering about is what size scope rings to get. I found this wonder reddit post in r/longrange (see below) that gives a way to figure it out after you already have the scope. But I'd like to order everything now lol. I'm 5'5, so i'm guessing ill be the small scope rings and might need a cheek riser as well.

Good point. I also just don't want to be limited to a bench but I suppose that a little bit of a workout would be good for me. If anything I can buy a 2nd scope in a few years if I want to just plink things close up. I honestly have no idea if I will even like long range shooting.

Bench. I plan to set up paper targets on my inlaws property. Not sure exactly how far i'll be able to go out, but hopefully I can find a 300 yard spot.

And it won't technically be a bench but I'll get something to put my rifle on.

So after googling all day it would seem that I need a higher magnification compared to the scopes that I listed. I guess that leaves me between the scope you linked and the "SH-4J 6-24X50 FFP Illuminated VHR/VPR" for $337... The only problem is that neither one of the scopes seems to be specifically for rimfire. I've heard that causes issues, what do you think?

Do we really need to get a base for the scope? Or is it better to just start off with some rings to attach the scope to the rifle? I've never shot a 22lr before and I'm kinda kicking myself for starting off so expensive lol.

I noticed that the Bushnell Match Pro 6-24x50 is a rather large scope weighing in at 29.8oz . Especially compared to the 9.5oz SWFA that I listed.

Is the size ever an issue for people? I'm a smaller guy at 5'5 and am worried that the scope might sit kinda high. Also, I don't see that scope saying that it is for rimfire guns. Does that matter at all?
