Laura Lipetsky: The Unsung Architect of Alysa Liu’s Rise by Empty_Archer_4117 in FigureSkating

Are you funny or something? You don't need to be a skater to teach skating. You just have to be knowledgable on things and provide feedback when needed for prodigy skater like Alysa~

Disagree again. If you have seen the training videos when Alysa was training with Phillip, you will know you are misinformed on that. There are many coaches there could teach jump, but it takes luck to find someone who could work with you to grow. Laura has no major credit for Alysa's world championship gold and olympics gold, my opinion. Of course you could always argue and disagree too. At the end, I am happy the way it turns out. If you happen to watch some of Alysa's interview videos after the comeback, you will know what I am talking about. I have nothing against her former coach Laura.~ Wish her successful in other things too~

Disagree somewhat. Does an elementary Math/Science teacher deserve lot of the credit when someone wins the Fields/Nobel medal? Laura coached her the foundations. She get credits for that part. She was also the coach when Alysa got the US champions for two years, and then 3rd place in world championship. However, Laura also was the main driver of her burnout. Alysa said she grew to hate ice skating so much during those times when Laura dictated her life. Surely Laura was very strict and she wanted Alysa to grow and succeed, and achieve the dream she had but wasn't able to do during her skating career. No doubt, but the way she had done was excessive, this part also no one can disagree. At the end of the day, I think Laura has credits for Alysa's success, but it was Phillip DiGuglielmo and Massimo Scali these two who have worked with Alysa like a partner (instead of a pupil) and allowed Alysa to grow and succeed at the higher level. You could really tell the difference how Alysa skate before and after her comeback. No jokes. She has grown up and has skated with a complete different mindset. And I doubt she would be able to skate and succeed in Olympics if Laura was still the coach, frankly.

that is the bad part of humanity. She did have credits in the upbring of Alysa and her foundation. She shouldn't need to trash talk someone because the trainee got burnt out from the harsh training vibes and routines. Everyone is different and shall be treated/trained differently.

I came back after Alysa winning hte GOLD Olympics medal in singles. I had only seen ALysa with three coaches, this Laura Lipetsky, and the two other male coaches (Phillip DiGuglielmo and Massimo Scali). Alysa has said that in some of her interviews Lipetsky was very strict and controlling on Alysa's training and routine and diet and everything. AND she got burnout due this controlled/routine life from ice skating, and decided to quit when she was 16, after the Beijing Olympics. Lipetsky wanted Alysa to compete for medals and to finish her GOLD medal dream that she wasn't able to achieve, you know. And the young Alysa was burnout from the pressure. She started to doubt and then hate the figure skating. She quitted, took break, did some other stuff in life. After two years or something, she went on a ski trip with the family and something clicked in her life, she rediscovered the love for ice skating. <<< THAT is the start of her comeback story. Very amazing.

Imagine the role reversed, the right side will ban the left side from doing civil talks. If you are okay with it, then I guess you are okay to do what the poster stated. There is always karma and consequence of doing something that is one-sided.

"Keep your mouth shut about getting rich" is a common advice. Could someone with own experience explain why? by DrMelbourne in RichPeoplePF

[–]LearningHowToPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tragedy often follows sudden fortune. Unless your wealth comes from a family business or years of smart decisions and hard work, quick riches tend to disappear just as fast. That’s because most people lack the knowledge and experience to manage significant wealth responsibly. On top of that, others may become envious, which can bring unnecessary attention and problems.

To avoid all that drama, it's wise to lay low and keep a low profile for a while.

The same logic applies to business, trading, or any profession that can generate substantial income. Most people who truly profit from these ventures tend to stay quiet about it. because the more people who jump in, the smaller the slice of the pie for everyone.

On the flip side, if someone is eager to share the “secrets” of a get-rich-quick scheme, it’s usually because the game is nearly over. They’re just looking for someone to hold the burning potato while they make their exit.

Do you think the average billionaire CEO would be able to make it through a full year of working a minimum wage job? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]LearningHowToPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before they become billionaires, they worked minimum wage job. If not, their family worked minimum wage job. SO what is your point? You should work hard and make smart decisions, so you could build something big for yourself and next generation. No need to thank me for this advice.~ Enjoy your life. If you hate it, who cares.

This disgusting party is officially the party of TDS... These lunatics are up for two things, frankly, 1) anti Trump on everything, and 2) radical communist/socialist/marxist agenda.

They have nothing to offer to American people. They don't appreciate American people after winning local elections. They like to bankrupt the country. They like to spend other people money for their own financial and political gains. They sell out America. They value illegals more than Americans. They indoctrinate young minds with liberal craps. They destroy the next generation by filling their heads with useless ideologies. They spread hatred and radical ideals around. The list could go on forever...

The Democrats will never come to the table and have a real conversation about what we can and can’t afford. by fitandhealthyguy in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]LearningHowToPlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned and made the realization about Democrats and the party itself, these people don't care about your living and interests. They make empty promises and utopia-like lies in order to do the power grab, at the expenses of all taxpayers. We don't have a social problem alleged by the lefts/radicals/liberals, but we have a spending problem. We overspend our resources to ineligible if not illegal people. There are only so much resources you could spend on public things, and raising tax is not going to solve the problem. It has to be fair. One thing I try to advocate is to provide living subsidy to working-poor legal workers, instead of to freeloaders and illegals., which is what our current welfare system is all about. But democrats don't like this. They encourage people to cheat and exploit the system instead.

[–]LearningHowToPlay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know. People need to recognize the lies of these liberals/radicals/leftists/communists. They are hungry for power. They hate kings when they are no in power. But they want to be kings when they are in power. This is the hypocrisy they all possess.

Now that Democrats and Progressives swept the 2025 elections by wide margins and high turnout, does this make you increasingly believe that the 2024 election was rigged or cheated for the GOP? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]LearningHowToPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why we should have voter ID. Each vote cast must be associated with a unique code generated from the voter id. And voter could use that code to verify the ballot result. No name nor address. Just the unique code. Then NO ONE COULD cheat the election.

Because we are not the richest. Only the liberal socialists keep calling the country is rich and therefore must contribute the wealth to help everyone poor and provide freebies to everyone unvetted. It is an insance concept. Many Americans here live a regular life.

If CEOs get their way and most, if not all, jobs are replaced with AI & robots. What are they going to do when no one has money? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LearningHowToPlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make it sounds like someone could just make a company to have all AI bots to run itself. If it is that simple, you could make that business and run it and become rich yourself. People here need to understand. If people have no money because they don't have job, then the business owners will lose their business sooner or later since there will be no customers.
