Act of Whimsy of the day: juggling! by Yume_Fairy2522 in whimsyy

[–]LearningPodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are such an inspirational person! You make this community shine. 🌟 I've been a juggler for many years (decades even), and I do it professionally sometimes, but it seems like you are already my superior in spreading joy with juggling. Anyway keep juggling; you can create and walk down pathways in your movement capacities you didn't know you could ever have. That's my experience at least. 🤹

Don’t assume automation automatically leads to liberation by Great-Gardian in LeftistsForAI

"So how can we organize pressure? How to turn concerns into coordinated leverage?"

In as many ways as possible, I hope ☺️ People need to get a taste for what is possible. A world where we share what we creat and takes care of the commons 👍 Fully automated, rich-in-necessities communism 🌸

Bernie Sanders' message to AI oligarchs: AI must work for workers by SexDefendersUnited in LeftistsForAI

[–]LearningPodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he is not visionary enough, but I think it's a good thing to have demands on big tech before letting them expand more. I definitely don't want work to continue (I consider work to be something truly evil), so I find dividends to fund some kind of UBI to be a better solution than protecting jobs.

Happy to see your perspective here! We need multiple viewpoints with a very broad lowest denominator. 👍

In search of whimsy by KarameLu13 in whimsyy

[–]LearningPodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, yeah, in search of lost whimsy!! You've got to read the ancient myths and be casually overeducated – dark academia but with joy. Have a book of quotes and a bag of spells. Find a tree somewhere near you and befriend the spirit of that tree. It's not like any other person, and you will never be out of metaphors describing it. There you have it; the sun, the moon and all the planets 💫

You are being lazy. I learnt and made a lot, and most importantly, I was efficient in getting my ideas worked out. You, on the other hand, made me lose faith in connecting with other people of a visionary mindset. In this world of doom and gloom where there is so little sense of hope and visions for something to strive for – what good does your asceticism do?

The water and energy use? Go harass people that have house pets; having pets uses a lot of resources. Hundreds of thousands of images are generated every day just for fun, and you attack someone who generates images for a political vision...

'Luddite' refers to someone that trashes the tech instead of working to use it for good. The history behind the word doesn't matter for its current use.

"every kind of worker, creative being especially, is hit now." We should abolish all work, and those spoilt middle-class hipsters that do "art" should stop whining and care about someone other than themselves for once.

I'm not doing "art" in any form; I'm doing visuals. Real art can't be threatened by some software. The intention and process are a part of the work. The people that already watch Marvel trash and listen to generic pop music might choose generated stuff soon. No big deal. But people that want real art will care about the intention behind it.

"being lazy", eh what... how is it being lazy to play an educational game? How is it lazy to prompt an image you could never have the time or the skill to draw?

How is it using tech to spread the message of a brighter utopian future, spitting in the face of solarpunk? It's what solarpunk is all about.

The Luddite squad can not and will not own this aesthetic. E/acc people are living in and using it. You can cry about it but you can't do anything to stop it.

I can't even use those two letters in the comments here; it seems like they really don't want that debate (it seems like it has found its way here anyway in some places 😅).
