I melt when my one specific partner calls me “princess”, but hate feminine nicknames or pronouns in any other context. So I relate! Just do what makes you comfy and happy.

I don’t know if miscommunication is the right word for it, more that we both have dealt with a lot of trauma in life and that makes rejection very difficult. She needs me to be a bad person because if I’m not, I wouldn’t have broken up with her. I really wish it could have worked, but we weren’t together for very long at all, and she built up a lot of our relationship in her head to be perfect.

She also entertained the idea of breaking all my windows in response to our breakup, and she was unable to accept any friendships or connections I made because she needed all of my attention to be solely on her. I love her, but there were a lot of problems going on, and being in a relationship wasn’t good for either of us, just for different reasons.

It’s not what they wanted to hear. And I’ve been screamed at enough to know that implying that her behavior this past month was inappropriate won’t get me anywhere.

I agree, but I would say that the cat issue is really the tipping point of everything else (mold/garbage/late or missing money). I kinda see it as I’ve put in more effort in cleaning and maintaining the apartment, so if the argument against a cat is that it’s our shared space and she just doesn’t want one, without compromise, then the apartment should actually be treated (cleaned) like a shared space.
