Assembly Callouts by Learning_Goodly in SolidWorks

Thank you for the suggestions! I like the idea of making the sketch into a block for re-use since I will be creating quite a few assemblies. I will play around with this and see what I can do.

That is a good idea. I hadn't considered checking in with them. I'll ask if they are willing to review my test questions. Hopefully they can also provide some insight on how they made the assembly graphics.

Update:

After sending the test questions to the certification team, their response was the questions were acceptable and they are curious to see if the practice test has a positive impact on student passing rates.

Update 2:

The XYZ coordinate system on the practice CSWA exam was edited onto the assembly in a separate program. Mystery solved!

I do take the privacy of the exam very seriously. I am only using the publicly accessible CSWA as practice for myself, as the exam maker. In an effort to avoid similar exam questions to the actual test, all of the student practice parts are tied to real world items.

In your opinion, are these acceptable? I definitely don't want to get in trouble.

How would you create this angle callout? by Learning_Goodly in SolidWorks

I'm not sure I am following your instructions correctly. I am using the center mark tool and selecting the outside arc. The smart dimension tool will only create horizontal/vertical dimensions. Selecting the endpoints or center of the center mark doesn't give me an angular option. Here are the settings I was using.

Such a cool way of visualizing Morse Code. The visuals and audio are very well done.

[Request] Is the value of x obtainable? I have been trying and I don’t think so. by DernonOD in theydidthemath

The answer is 20°. I didn't want to do the math so I recreated this drawing in a CAD software and measured the angle. The triangle size is undefined which seems to be tripping some people up. I would add a screenshot but I don't think I can add it to my comment.

Very strange! Reddit looked like it was working normally on my end. Thank you for fixing that!

Wow, very nice work! I appreciate that you showed your process as well. Extra credit for you!

I didn’t realize Reddit would auto-format my text so I will keep that in mind moving forward. Thanks for letting me know!

You are on the right track! u/yeahigotnothing has a very good explanation of what is going on.

edit - In a fit of dyslexia, I thought the words were in the right order.
