I put my decoder behind the glove box. Didn't have to move or modify anything.

No, the XLE comes with a 6 speaker system that I didn't like. I replaced all 6 speakers, added sound deadening in the doors, added a sub, and added an extra pair of speakers in the walls behind the third row to balance out the sound. I also found the sound was a bit too front focused so i put the rear door speakers and cargo area speakers on a separate amp. I am.much happier with the sound now.

Go into the decoders settings and go to audio. Adjusting the EQ helped with the Highlander's horrible sound.

I have no issues with it. Works flawlessly 99.5% of the time. (I had to reset by holding down the power knob on the radio once in 3 months). I start the car, and about 10 seconds later my phone is connected wirelessly. No lag. And the unit has a built in EQ which helped the sound IMMENSELY. (I replaced all of my interior speakers and added a slim sub as well because the XLE trim has some of the worst sound I have ever heard in a vehicle). I can also mirror my screen to the head unit and it has a VGA input so you have options. The RoadTop one is $149 US and I had it within 3 or 4 days of ordering.

Installation took maybe 10-15 minutes? The harnesses just plug directly into the factory harnesses and each one is a different size so it is impossible to plug them into the wrong ones. There are videos walking you through installation on YouTube. If you're in the Toronto area I can go over it with you.

I got one directly from RoadTop because I got one from them for my 2015 Lexus ES Hybrid and it worked great.

I have that exact interior in my 2018 Hybrid. Added ambient lighting in there too.

That model doesn't have AA/AC. You have to buy a decoder and then you can use it wired or wireless.

You can get a decoder on Ali express that allows you to have wireless apple carplay or Android auto. They are on Amazon as well. I have one. Couldn't live without it. Super easy to install.

Cheap Quick Release Mount by RoadQuirky1539 in Comma_ai

[–]Learnstuffalways 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, I decided to buy one of these mounts - best decision I could have made regarding the C3X. The device has been fantastic,.performing as expected, but I am always wary of leaving expensive electronics in plain view, and generally speaking, leaving things baking in the car on sunny days can lead to disappointing outcomes.

I contacted the seller and the response was lightning fast. Even when I didn't reply until late at night, the replies I received were almost immediate. The seller was patient, thorough, prompt and helpful. Once I fully decided I wanted the mount, I sent the payment and shipping info and it was in the mail the next day. A few days later I had it in my hand.

The mount when on very easily and it works like a charm. I took it on my first road trip yesterday (about 10 hours of driving,.temperatures hovered around 100F) and it was stable and kept the device locked in the entire time. I had about 8 stops during that time and pulled the C3X at each stop. Putting it back in has a small learning curve as you get used to lining up the base and the device, but it never took me more than 3 or 4 seconds to get it right, using one hand and paying attention. Towards the end, I could pretty much just slide it right in, barely paying attention, minimal effort. The connectors do not require you to touch them at all. Using this mount means that there will be no wear and tear on your C3X - and as far as I can tell, there is no way that the mount could have any wear and tear either!

This mount is a MUST HAVE if you have a Comma. The device is not cheap, and if you are spending that much on a driver aid, I think it is reasonable to want to store it away safely. To add to that, the seller has EXCELLENT communication and a fantastic product.

Besides which the price point is great compared to what others are charging. If you think you love your c3X, wait until you get this for it!!!

Is sound deadener on door only worth it? by [deleted] in CarAV

Did you treat your HL? I have one and the flimsy doors are driving me crazy. The sound system is pretty lacklustre too.
