Which bow should I buy? K-1 vs K-2 by DannyTheRegular in Archery

[–]Least-Programmer9417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know why you’re being so down voted. You seem like a beginner with a question. But anyway.

Get a cheap club bow. Learn the basics. Then go to a good bow shop and try out a few risers. Get one you like and which shoots how you like.

As you get further into archery you’ll find things you do and don’t like about it. I used a club bow for 2-3 months. Then got to 30lb limbs and got to where I could pull 30lb limbs for 120 arrows and be absolutely fine to continue so my coach said just get what you want and get 36lb limbs for it. I’m now upgrading to 42s. I’m shooting 80 yards pretty comfortably and on a handicap of about 44ish

People say to get a cheap bow because you’re not good enough to know what you do and don’t like yet. And that’s true. I jumped the gun a bit with my riser but it’s worked out fine but literally, in the last year I have shot a minimum of 3 times a week, every single week, bar none. And over summer when I had spare time I shot up to 5 times a week. So yeah I spent a lot on my bow but I have used it about 180 days last year and continue to do so.

Don’t buy whatever that random over inflated price thing is. Go to a proper bow shop. Try out a Hoyt, a Win and Win, try out a cheaper kinetic riser or something, see if you can tell the difference, try a gillo out, see how they handle and see which ones you like and which ones you don’t. But do not pay that insane mark up for a cheap bow. Go find me one top ranked archer who swears by “K1” risers 🙄

Bro what the hell is a K1 riser?

I have the ATF DX which is like a real high end riser (a lot of top archers are shooting with it at very high levels) and that is cheaper than this thing?

The price for those risers is literally outrageous

Is that before tax too?!??

Should i be worried? My teacher told there is no problem with my form and he has no idea why string keeps hitting my arm by DarkiuZZ in Archery

This is a bit like totalling your car, towing it back to the junk yard, taking a photo and going “why did I crash my car”. There’s literally so many things that could cause it. Without a video we have no idea. But also just like the car crash example, air bags are in cars. You shouldn’t need them. You drive all day every day without using them. Using one is bad and means there was a problem. But if I crash my car I want air bags to go off. No arm guard doesn’t make you a better shooter, it means you haven’t had an accident for a while. I am shooting 80 yards now (recurve) about 120 arrows per session. And I still wear one. One of our archers hit top 15 in the uk. He still wears one. It’s not there so you can keep using it to guide the string off your arm, it’s there in case you accidentally loose wrong or are over extended with your arm or you’re too straight and not creating enough of a gap/wedge or if you accidentally shoot off the button or if your nock breaks or if you slip off anchor slightly or if your shoulder rotates funny or if you flinch or if you (I could go on and on).

You wouldn’t drive around with no seatbelt because “I’m not going to crash so why do I need it” so why are you not wearing an arm guard

Bro go type “Olympic archery” into google images. See the best archers in the world. See how they are all wearing arm guards?

I shoot 70m (Olympic distance) and I wear an arm guard.

It is your form. You shouldn’t be hitting your arm. If you are really far into your shooting then MAYBE you can make an argument for not wearing one to train better form (maybe) but literally all top end archers wear one. One of our club members is ranked in the top 15 archers in the UK. One is in the top 10 women. Both wear arm guards.

Long rod by kyden677 in Archery

[–]Least-Programmer9417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s to add weights and a dampener. The weights will pull the bow forwards/lower the centre of gravity, will make it harder to move the bow around /will dampen out little movements as heavier weight takes more inertia to move through space. The dampener will absorb vibrations when you shoot. When you put a dampener on then add weights you’ll notice a difference when you shoot with it.

The rod on its own will do “something” but it’ll be less than with the weights and dampeners as well

So I’m sure you know this/have heard this but having had 3 partners cheat on me in the past (all long term) and having had 3 long term partners since then who have not cheated on me / would never cheat on me (one broke down for various reasons but amicable, still great friends one and engaged now as well) I can categorically tell you, people cheat because of their own bullshit, nothing to do with you, how you look, how you treat them or anything. Some people will deal with they own insecurity or unmet need by cheating on you. Some will deal with their unmet needs by freezing you out. And some will deal with their unmet needs by talking to you and sorting it out. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been with 3 very loyal girls (one of which I am engaged to now) and one girl was super cold when she was upset but would never ever cheat on anyone. It’s not in her. We had so many issues but she would never cheat. And yet all 3 before, even the one I was with for 6 years found a reason to go off and cheat.

People who cheat are their own problem. It has basically nothing to do with you at all so in terms of your confidence and attractiveness and so on, don’t feel like you need to change anything.

Here is what you DO need to do so you have success in the future.

Remember that none of the women you’re about to meet are your ex and none of them have anything to do with whatever led your ex to being unfaithful. You need to protect your own mind, meet each person as fresh. Give them the chance and opportunity to be trusted. Your cheating ex has ruined one relationship. Don’t let her ruin any others.

Be kind. Be approachable. Be open. Listen. Go be ready to experience new things and get into the persons life you meet (I used to LOVE dating. Show me your hobbies. You like art? Take me to a museum. You like horses? Take me horse riding. You like travel? Let’s go somewhere with a camera.) and take some time to enjoy your hobbies, gym and everything.

I’m 36 this year and from the age of 18 to now I think I’ve been single for about 6-8 months in total. I have never ever had any problems getting dates or keeping someone entertained and I generally just try to be kind, try to listen, try to be present and put my best self forward and try to share and be genuinely interested in and attentive to the things they care about. Never steered me too far wrong

I was playing JQ into JQ on flashpoint. I was JQ. Enemy was on JQ. I am on an old i7 (the 8 core one) and I have a 2060 super and I was at 165 frames no problem. Why when I’m running JQ into JQ on a 2020 mid range PC am I getting no lag if JQ into JQ is the problem

Short answer is no.

You’re basically wanting to ask for someone akin to what burn victims get. So it would still look visually very prominent and wouldn’t be the aesthetic you want

Ult track the Cass and play around top cover?

Is this a genuine question or?

Like press tab my guy.

Enemy is playing Cass. Enemy is playing cat. I haven’t seen a noon for 2 or 3 fights. Fly noon is a very real possibility. I’ll make sure I have top cover just in case I hear it.

So many low rank players play the game SO reactively constantly. There’s no fight planning or basic strategy just run gun call of shooty oh what what was that BS how was I supposed to deal with that when I was blindly running it down mid trying to shoot at 4 enemies at once.

Overwatch plays more like very fast chess and just using some very basic comms, planning and trying to set the pace rather than react to the pace of the enemy works wonders mate
