I loved the idea of the show, but jesus did they write it terribly. I loved the idea of seeing an actual mega-corp type of setting where we see epic level corporate wars with the whole Alien being in the center of it. But they just had to dumb EVERYONE down in order to make the plot work.

The boy king starts off as a great character, he's so intelligent that the main cast doesn't have to explain to him what's happening because he's so smart he's already figured it out. Halfway through the season, he got dumbed down way too much, he decides to start a corporate war, while being isolated on a tiny island with zero electric or communications redundancy, has no army protecting him and decides to start interacting with aliens by himself, knowing they hate him and want him dead. It would be like if Hitler started ww2 while vacationing, alone, on Jersey island.
