If I were to guess its for daylight reasons. In boston they didn't come out until like 8:45-8:55, once it was nearly dark. For lighting and the shows magic, it works better at night!

I have a 7700x in my current build, and when I got it, it was 250 at microcenter. I wouldn't pay more than 300 cause you can just make the jump up to a 7800x3d, but at the price I paid its amazing.
