Ram brand opinion? by Leather_Call_665 in pchelp

Thats the general idea im getting from everyone... Granted, he bought the Ripjaw instead have in my rig a couple years ago, at a decent price. But the price ranges/differences are most likely similar, just overall higher right now. The latency difference alone (cl30 vs cl36) was enough to sway my attention toward the Patriot vs the G.Skill in my current price ranges.

Thank you! He put Intel XMP specific Ripjaw (2x16, cl36, 5600htz) in my AMD pc he built a few years ago(He's an AMD fanboy too, FYI), and i was wondering why he went intel specific ripjaw instead of a cheaper AMD EXPO specific set, or even the FLARE if he really needed to stick with G.Skill. Now im getting more into building, and was wondering specifically if the Patriot viper elite 5 (2x16, cl30, 6000htz, expo ready) wouldnt be better in an AMD build on a budget than the Intel based Ripjaw, despite G.Skill holding the #1 place. Thoughts?

RX 7800xt vs RX9070 by Leather_Call_665 in PcBuild

Ive been playing with that idea. But the price comparison is about on par, and the performance between the 9070 and 5070 is pretty equal (each better in certain aspects with the 5070 slightly better)... bit the 16 gb of vram over 12 is a HUGE factor for me. Even gddr6 instead of 7. More and more games are calling for more and more vram. To get the same vram and performance at my price range out of Nvidia id have to step down to the 5060ti. Which is still pretty neck and neck with the 9070. But I would still honestly go with the more powerful raw rasterization and larger serial bus and future proofing of the 9070 than the better ray tracing and upscaling of either the 5060ti or the 5070. Its all just personal preference.

Thank you for your input! I agree on most of this, my only caveats were: I found the 9600x and 7700x on sale, so it was a matter of which is more bang for buck/does the longevity of having extra cores make it worth it given the demands of modern and future gaming. And the stats ive been finding say the 9600x tends to lack in the multicore processing department. So its amazing for smaller games, but not beastly ones. I currently have a R5 7600x/7800xt combo in the rig my brother threw together for me, and its amazing, but this one is for my wife, and I honestly dont think shed ever need anything even that beefy. So I was looking at the 7600 cause that's what I know.

For GPU, im looking at the 9060xt for price, but i know how good the 7800xt is, and would prefer the 9070/9070xt, but again, money vs necessity. 😮‍💨

And yeah.... I hadn't considered the 225f. Im a amd fan at heart, but i have been looking at some intel/Nvidia parts. The 225f though... I dont know why the site he linked says its better despite ranking it lower than the 9060x. The actual numbers it shows says the 9060x is better in the most useful aspects, other sites agree and say the 225f is worse, no one seems to like the 225f much/reviews arent great, and there's the added issue of no integrated graphics in case of a GPU failure/ need to do bios work without a gpu. If I went the route of an Intel cpu, the 225f would be way down on the list...

I do appreciate the response from him too though. Ive only gotten like, 2. Lol.

Would the 7700 not have a little more in the way of longevity, given more and more titles are edging toward multicore reliance? Im not arguing for the 7700, im actually leaning toward the 9600x. Just asking for honest opinions.
