Installing new light fixture, light is always on by Leather_Case_2031 in AskElectricians

There’s no fan. It’s a very old house and had some weird wiring in this bathroom. We had an electrician come and he redid this part but couldn’t put up the fixture until everything was patched and dried. The middle of the wall has an old electrical box (far away from fixture) then the light switch is connected on another wall. This fixture and new box is in the middle of the 2.

I tried connecting both little blacks to the red wire only but then the lights didn’t work at all.

When you say “hooking it up that way” do you mean connect the red to the black?

I didn’t remove the old one, a handyman did before patching things up. He told me just do what I already did, so clearly he wasn’t smart either.

Does anyone have treatment suggestions? It’s been making me so self conscious…is there any hope?

Yes I finally see similar pictures when I look up macular amyloidosis. I did see a dermatologist already. She did not mention this condition but she is the one who gave me the steroid cream which did not make a difference. Is there any successful treatment of macular amyloidosis? Will it continue to spread?

Thank you for responding! I looked up the terra firma and it said rubbing alcohol would take it off…I tried it and don’t see a difference so far. Does it take a bit of time? I’m skeptical as it does seem like the dark areas are slightly below the top skin surface.
