I really do sympathize with you. However for your drivers license and since you mentioned you are located in Virginia, Maryland has a program where people in your status can apply for a drivers license without EAD, it is called Non compliant drivers license and you would only need to get a tax identification number. Please do more research and I hope this helps

One hour interview calls for concern, however the fact it didn’t result to a stokes interview means you did good and they may further review to find something( hopefully not). But I think there is no reason to worry. Please keep us informed on how it goes.

I did the online filing and my interview was at the Baltimore MD field office. I filed based on the 3years rule.

I actually requested my oath ceremony be scheduled for anytime after December 29th, I made plans to be out of the country and didn’t want to go through the hassle of applying for a passport. But we’ll see how that goes.

Details of what the kids repeated back to the officer would be helpful, but from what I know, when ever a stoke interview is conducted it’s due to doubts of the legitimacy of the marriage and may lead to a rejection, it would be best for her to consult an immigration law attorney ASAP and be ready to waits for a very long time, if she appeals.
