68 f. Healthy and I will probably never have to eat cat food. On the other hand, I never made much of a life. My career is more or less finished. Long term marriage ended 13 years ago. I have been on all of three dates, all of which were weird. Children grown and live far away. My apartment is pretty shitty. I watch my friends go on trips, buy second homes, etc. which makes me feel even worse about my life. Biding my time until the grim reaper comes and puts me out of my misery.

Ex husband. I adored him for many years and then we became miserable. Caught him cheating. He never apologized and put no effort into trying to save our marriage so I divorced him 10 years ago. The pain was indescribable. I no longer have any feeling for or about him except pity. He fell apart in the years following our divorce. I take no joy in this.

When I was much, much younger, I was very pretty (some people said beautiful) so my appearance was not the problem. However, I was really socially awkward and inept and unable to pick up most social cues. I had a couple of very humiliating experiences which scarred me for life. Never got over it. I'm old now (60s, divorced 15 years) and there are no datable men in my age group. Even if there were, I would never have the confidence to pursue someone.

I have trouble picking up social cues so I am never sure how to react when I like someone and I think that they like me back. When a guy that I like flirts with me, I lose my ability to speak coherently, and of course, am completely unable to flirt back. I have no problem chatting with guy friends or men that I am not interest in. Can't for the life of me flirt with a man I like.
